So how are you guys mounting these racks to the rear deck? I'm assuming you are removing the top "cover" on the deck and using a backing plate of some sort.. I've got 3 amps to place and this looks better then mounting them on the sub box.
By putting the amp so close to the rear deck, would it make the amp run hotter because there is less space for the heat to travel up and out?
i just said screw it and bolted my amp to the rear deck upside down. and before anyone tells me "dont do that youll burn up your amp!" in the instructions there were no warnings about proper mounting direction and i keep close watch on it to make sure it doesnt get too hot. it stays pretty damn cold... both sides.
with the amp upside down the heat goes back into the amp rather than to the heatsink however i have it bolted directly to the metal effectively making an even bigger heatsink.
btw... my amp rack > all.
/thread.
not familiar with the concept of a heat sink are you?
yes and i know that is way off. sounded ok when i posted it. sounds retarded now. but im curious to hear what you have to say
gee, what did that setup look like?
Dave
One of the cleanest looking setups I've ever seen in a Contour. I'm sure it sounded amazing.
What were you running up front speaker wise?
I assume you took that pic before you did any eq adjustments...everything seems to be set flat. (or at least it appears that way in the first picture)onder:
Nice!!!
