My 98.0 SVT Tour a work in progress ...

You could install a Mondeo hand crank and have it 100% factory looking. Just need the cover and crank in a matching interior color. It's a direct swap in.

had no clue that the Mondeo had a hand crank but im ok with the $35.00 matching cover and motor i got off of here from a fellow CEG'r ... but since i remember about it i'll go look for the handle and take pics .. lol ..

UPDATE : I just got the headlight covers (smoked) $35.00 new shipped and ordered the Bra from Amazon for the front .. .. $71.00 shipped ... not a bad price .. IMO.. anyway should have the bra today or tomorrow pending my work schedule and the headlight covers next week by Monday ..

covers will look like these ..

J/K, your car looks great man.

Lol I can't make it into something it's not it is a 1998 lol... And if I were in Maine I wouldn't need a bra.. but down here in Florida love bug season is just starting and they do this to ur car

Nice looking SVT! And just an FYI, DO NOT install those headlight covers without having some way to remove them easily!!! I got a set that is just like that and thank god its velcro'd because at night you CANNOT see anything! And i have 5500K HID's.

I also do not recommend "tinting" your fog lights with VHT (or similar product).. I lost all my fog luminosity and now need to sand them back to normal:nonono:... But being all blacked out looks nice:laugh:.

Thanks for the compliments friend.... The kit I got has a Velcro adhesive cover.. As for the fogs I wanted to do the yellow vinyl overlay that way it's easy to remove if I don't like it... Anyway I'm always open to suggestions for mods and upgrades...

while doing the stop and go thing behind a school bus ... just all of a sudden I hear a light tap that turned into a knock that turned into me calling AAA not low on oil the motor still runs but i'm not risking it .. besides i was up for a 3L anyway ;) now I got the opportunity to do so....

good job so far.

Incase anyone is interested if you use the 01 + cougar alt you can use the MPV alt bracket with no modification.

Thanks sam and damn do i owe you a ride in her when she's done and a drink too. Maybe a case of your favorite beer, the advise has helped tremendously!!! and the pic of the relocated coil pack from striker2 was nice thanks for the referral ...

and yeah you can use an 01 cougar alternator but with already owning a new contour alternator i decided to trim the tabs ... keep my alternator and save the $$$ as a matter of fact, here is the pic he posted if anyone does this swap this is where i will be relocating the coil

His instructions - just use some 1/2" wide steel bar stock cut to length and drilled holes in the appropriate places to mount it to the 2 valve cover studs. it will take some work to get it located so that the plug wire for cylinder 6 reaches, but is doable. also posting in my 3L build page

yeah im pretty sure it's too tall .. ima put my hood on today and see how tall it is and how it can fit if it can at all .. i might get a cowl hood and make it fit..

Oh yeah - getting there. That IAC top mounted on the UIM is definetly going to be in the way :blackeye:.

The Mazda UIM FITS !!! lol wish i had pics but i got frustrated today with a crappy harness. I'm getting a blown fuse as soon as i turn the key it's the PCM mod fuse. I can only think it's a freakin wiring harness issue since the issue wasn't there pre swap. and to top it off i even inspected it before it went in :( anyway good news is with a lil mod to the hood latch and the hood mounts it closes fine with only about 1/8th of the hood lines being off. not too bad. will be great once i get a cowl hood

svttour thanks for all the quick chats on pm and the cup holders lol. Your Mazda 3L build it's seriously a possible next mod for me.. it may take a few months because i want a low low mileage motor but that gives me time to shop... im not in that much of a hurry.. biggest concern about my 2.5L is just super poor when it comes to power just slow.. way slower than my other tours.. my car struggles to keep up with stock 4 bangers in traffic .. my imrc works (i see it open) but i don't feel it ... anyway thanks guys .. any other mods u think would look good ??? let me know ..

BTW - I think I spoke too soon!
