Moosing? and other problems

If you did the Throttle Hang fix and the moose is gone, save your money for other things down the road. ;)

I think that's a good idea. It seems that my summer moosing has gone away <crosses fingers>.

You won't know until winter, a LONG time from now...

Ya. I'm a little worried about winter, but we'll see if I have a winning fix. I got extra copper pipe caps so I can drill other sized holes if necessary.

If the moose returns every now and then, don't worry about it. I have the bagpipe fix and it comes back every few months or so (in the morning during summer).

Almost got things under control...

Well, everything seems to be running good. Tires fixed, moose seems to have wandered to greener pastures and my fuel pump seems to be running okay (lingering concern). However, I still have one problem I can't seem to figure out.

My check engine light comes on for a minute or so when I'm passing or going up a hill. Originally, it only happened when I revved high on the freeway. Yesterday, driving home, it happened while I was driving a particularly hilly segment of road near our home.

I've checked all the rubber boots and hoses which deal with airflow. Nothing. I've checked the engine codes and never find one.

Few questions -- I still haven't changed out the plugs and wires. Probably needs it regardless of it fixing the problem. I've run the KOEO test with the scan tool and it shows no codes. I can't seem to figure out how to run any other tests. Also, since the light only comes on for a minute or so, does it not save the code?

Thanks for any more advice. Things are finally starting to come together.

Update: All Better?

Update: All Better?

Well, I pulled the spark plugs and wires. Plugs looked fine except for some black / brown gunk at the bottom of the ceramic part of the plug (closest to the bolt / threads). Not sure what it was, but the plugs themselves were still gapped well and a chocolate brown color which I believe is good.

The wires were a little dry, but no obvious cracks. Anyway, all went well (except for crossing wires #1 & #3 at first) and the car seems to run a lot smoother.

Butt dyno results show a full half cheek improvement but it hasn't been calibrated recently, so I'm really not sure what that means. Smoother and quieter engine seems good.:D
