Does the SVT take the same size filter as the non SVT ??

stock filter for an svt is conical. stock non svt filter is a flat filter.

You're probably thinking of open element filters that necessitate a heat shield to prevent heat soak. The stock SVT intake is shielded in plastic with a snorkel leading to the wheel well.

Yeap, I was. Got me confuddled. So now that I think about it, I'm not sure I have ever seen a stock SVT filter/housing. Or perhaps I have and I just didn't register it. :shrug:

I also think the SVT housing will only fit the SVT Mass MAS which is SVT specific. The housings were horendously pricey from dealers if you had to replace one.
