justa few pix of my 04 3L

H the valve covers aren't perfectly smooth. They got small pimples on them in some spots because they bake the parts at 900 degrees first to burn any contamanents like oil an such that maybe in them and that's what caused it. Obviously ford use cheap metal or something

It is called out gassing and it needs to be done for powder coating as well. Cast parts and aluminium parts should be outgassed at a higher than cure heat to bring the contaminants to the surface, then they need to be cleaned and sandblasted to remove the contaminants. After that process the parts are prepared as normal and cured at the lower temp so the contaminants do not come to the surface again.

Man, do you not know I do powder coating?!

$70 for two valve covers. Blasted, coated, and return shipped in about 1 week......
$20 for a TB

His are ceramic coated . Both coatings are durable.

sweet! i'll definetly hit you up when I take mine off. I want my engine to look like that.

The small "pimples" are on everyone's valve covers unless you sand them off. It is casting slag from the molding process. Ford didn't care enough to re-work those bumps off in the finishing department:nonono:.

GT2SVT - hit me up when you are ready

Mine was smooth. Its like CollinsPC said piy gasing cause they stoped the process cause of it cause they didnt know if i wanted to continue or not. I said screw it keep going
