Just took delivery of my new t-red

New(pre-98) dash is dyed and in.

Pics of the current progress will be posted tomorrow night, have a little bit of work to do yet before everything is ready to install, I'm also waiting on my sub power wire before i can put the carpet down.

If i wasn't going out of town this weekend i'd have it all together by Monday but i need a vacation....so off i go.

Everything is looking good, now we just have to get the powerwire and we are ready to put in all back in, the car is gonna look hott when its done. What's on the list for tomarrow? I'll call and let you know if I can help!

Tonight I'm pulling the dash back out, I've come up with a solution to the problem we were having, I also have a few spots to touch up then doing a final re-install. Once that's in the column can be bolted back up and the majority of the dash trim can be installed. Car will be mobile again tonight after only one day down.

The crossovers will be mounted tonight and the front door panels will be painted, rears installed.

I'd also like to try and sort out the issue we're having with the pass front door handle.

all SVT handles stick I swear.... You need to pull the panel off and readjust slightly - its a pain in the arse.

BTW -- I'm currently involved in the Subaru Exchange Program this week... I have a 2006 WRX Limited. Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee :)

Its fun not driving your own car, suppose I should clean off the road tar I got on it last night before I return it. LOL

eh? lost me mike.

It was me just being pissed at myself and redirecting at the first person who took a shot at me. Just ignore it and I'll redirect my anger at Josh where it belongs. ;) My sig gives clues to what I did, though. It was on the Sport, thankfully.

Very true. I assume you were modifying the exhaust?

Good guess. Less modifying and more repairing, though. Trying to cut off a bad section right next to one of the hangers. I'm not gifted with sawzalls to begin with, and on my back under the car trying to cut upwards didn't work out so well. I let the blade drift at an angle and the cut is too close the the hanger to clamp the coupler on, so now I get to pay to have it welded on.

D'oh, that sucks. The only time I have had to use a sawzall on a car was when Amandas dad and I put on her flowmaster exhaust, we just cut the old one up. Made it a lot easier to remove

Back on topic, glad to see the T-Red is coming along nicely.

Just two quick pics...dash didn't come out perectly how i wanted it, but its good enough for this car. Despite the flash of the camera the steering wheel, airbag and dash all do match.

Power wire came in today so things will progress quickly from here on out.

nifty!

that black dye isnt going to later rub off or crack will it? Long ago I remember a dude over in Canada from the Cougar boards (Puck Puck) who did the same thing to his tan leather and later it just rubbed off and looked like poopy.

not sure what he used but he used some professional SEM stuff.

I remember when he did that. I was skeptical about how well it would stand up. I never saw the end result though. Too bad it didn't work out for him.

yah it looked fantastic when he did it and then later at CF 01 or 02 I saw the car in person and it was uber nasty and I think he later regretted doing it...
