"A company is Lackawanna County is changing the way it does business, and hundreds of people are out of work.

Cinram in Olyphant laid off more than 300 people this morning. A spokesperson for the company said certain distribution, warehousing, and packaging operations are being moved to other plants in other states. That spokesperson added the company plans to move some of the affected workers into current openings. They hope to have the rest retrained and in other jobs at Cinram before the end of the year.

The surf control is down and I'm posting from work.

Apparenbtly ny department wasn't effected by the layoff. Although a good portion of the 350 WERE fired.
