How to test Cam and Crank Sensor

Can the cam and crank sensor (I assume both a hall effect sensor) be tested?
a) off the engine?
b) with engine cranking (but not running)?

I assume the signals of both sensors are coming/going to the PCM

on my 95 Duratec ECU PCM, what are the pin numbers?

Problem is, both tests (the way I read it) are with the engine running (which it doesn't, no ignition signal going to the coil.

check resistance of the sensors, I cant remember off hand what they should be but i have a couple laying around that i can check. if either of them are an open loop its for sure bad.

Thanks. Will do. Assume (since inductive) that I should measure a value for the coil in there.

I'll have to see if I have the values laying around from before. I had a printout that I used to test them that listed the specs, but that was few years ago.
