Just curious, what changes did ford make to push the 2000 duratec to 200hp as compared to the 170hp and 190hp engines?

From regular SE to SVT:
Different pistons and heads for higher compression
Rather the heads were ported via Extrude Hone process
Smoother and less restrictive intake
From E0 SVT (195 hp) to E1 SVT (200 hp):
More Extrude Hone process was applied (E0 only had that process done to the upper intake manifold and runners, and the secondary ports. E1s had more EH done to the upper intake manifold and the primary intake ports got the treatment)
In essence, just made the engine breathe a lot better. And of course a more aggressive tune.

the later engine, which are returnless fuel systems, also had a slight drop in size and the compression was increased very slightly, iirc.

Se's have 17# injectors while all SVT's have 19# injectors

swap the "long block" and your good to go. one would want to use the fuel system and sensors, wiring harness off the vehicle the swap is being done in. so take the mechanicals of the 98 engine will swap just fine into a 2k

@ BrApple you seem to know alot i was wondering would the svt cams bolt right into a se 2.5 engine without swapping heads just curious ?

Yes, they do, but you have to pull the engine to do it, so why bother.
If you are going to swap engines, just put a 3 liter in. Then you get a revised pan design, more power, and a better platform for the same work as putting in a different 2.5. I swapped my 2.5 to another 2.5 after an oil starvation issue before I joined this forum and found out about the magic of 3 liter swaps. Regretted it ever since.
Plus, used 3 liter engines are cheaper and easier to find than used SVT 2.5s.

you don't have to pull the engine, the cams can be changed with the engine in place. This is what was done with my car when it still had the 2.5L engine. However headers where also installed at the same time so the subframe was out since it made everything easier.

How do you get the timing cover off without pulling it?

Yea i would do a 3.0 swap,but previous owner put a very good running regular 2.5 in my Csvt id hate to take it out....and im trying to put as much of the svt parts back on it as i can without taking the engine apart i know pistons are out the question.....it has the rjl1 svt ecu. and so far i put the svt uim,svt lim,svt injectors,svt throttle body,stock svt intake....i figure id put svt cams in if the engine doesnt need to come out and i guess thats it unless im missing something else svt wise lol

take the bolts out and remove. support the engine on a jack and remove the motor mount. There was two of us working on it and I don't recall exactly how it was done, but it has been done.
