I just got my Clutch installed in January and it is now slipping in 1st - 4th Gears!

I have a Spec 3+ and Spec Flywheel. Both installed Brand new. The flywheel was used before but I got a new insert.

I am engaging very high in the pedal movement so I am unsure if this is a Bleeding/Adjustment issue or if this is a issue with the bedding/wear in of the clutch!

I had the clutch installed with my 3L and did about 1k miles of regular driving to break it in, Installed a NPG TURBO KIT and drove to Louisiana (some stop and go and mostly highway miles of course).

I did regular driving for anywhere between 1k - 2.5k miles and when I was down @ NPG, Joey told me I was slipping between gears 1-4. So he tuned it a bit for more drivability and from then on I went on to driving it back home and such! Probably running the car minimally to see what was the slipping issue.

Now I can drive the car in a regular manner but if I get on it I have no grab. Instead of the wheels spinning its the clutch spinning!

So I guess I get 300+ hp to the CLUTCH??? Real NICE!

Help with what I can do please???

try bleeding the clutch again.

mine grabs really high and feels alot lighter then stock. as far as I know I didn't have any slipping issues at 8 psi. I know the other weekend even at just 3 psi the wheels would not hook up at high rpm ...

only time mine slipped was the first night when I drove the car after my 3L swap. not a fun feeling ....

My SVT clutch slipped in the upper rpms with 330whp. I switched to a 3+ and it has been great so far. No slipping. I'd also recommend bleeding your clutch. If there is air in the lines it will slip.

I went out and drove the car and pulled in third 2 or 3 times and I did realize the clutch pedal moving down like there was a foot on it. I am thinking more that I just have to bleed it. Ill get to it this weekend!!!

qb, on a side note..I see you have Bassani cat-back and MSDS headers. After the install of my MSDS/NPG pipes into my Bassani, I have a ton more rasp than I used to. Before the headers/turbo, it would rasp a little when it was cold. Now the damn thing sounds like a bumblebee.. You have any issues with yours??

weird...it should be if anything, a little softer and LESS raspy with the turbo kit...

I have almost no rasp now..... It is very hard to get the WHOLE exhaust sealed up properly for me so I am going to try some exhaust cement! Thats the only thing that is pretty annoying with my turbo installation!

Dont bother with the exhaust cement. I tried some of that and it worked for about 5 miles til it all fell off.

Werd. Tried 2 kinds and both didn't last too long. The dark stuff in the tin lasted the longest. I think 2 weeks. Depends on where it is too. I applied mine where it's leaking at the rear header. My exhaust was fabbed like poop and it would cost too much to fix so I live with it.
