Thanks!
I didnt like the cable I bought at Ace today (not stainless). I did manage to disassemble the IMRC but that was it. Tomorrow I'll stop off at the local Pep Boys to see what they offer.

Well, things are moving along slowly. The engine ready to go back in and had the flywheel cut today. The only problem I have is the trans. I just dont know what to do with it. A local guy check out the synchros and said they were ok maybe its me but I see slight wear on the very edge of the syncro teeth. Maybe its normal. Maybe I'm nuts. I left my number with Terry I'll have to talk it over with him. I would hate to do all this work only to have the trans give me troubles. I was hoping to have it back in by the weekend but thats not going to happen. :nonono:

Even if you have to wait a week to verify if your trans needs work, it sure beats putting it together and listening to it crunch the first shift from 1-2,2-3, or what have you. All that work and a pretty motor ,then you got to pull it again....be patient. You build cars you should know better.....nothing goes as planned.

I know. It seems like every where I look I see nice rides. The crappy part is that the Impala is in storage cause I needed space to work on the SVT. I guess I'll just keep driving the EGG (Ford Focus).

Well if it makes you feel any better my daily ride is a rust riddled 94 Geo metro XFI, blown out suspension, needs a valve job, but it gets 50MPG. Granted my weekend/baby hauler is a 05 Acura TL or the 05 silverado crew that blows blue smoke every other time I start it up in the morning :(

LOL! It does that just to let you know it running. It a GM thing. Fords just one day lock up. My SHO did that to me a couple of weeks ago. Granted that its 17 years old and has 170k miles on it. The bad thing is that it did it right in front of a Pontiac Dealership. The wife had to talk me out of just walking in and buying the new G8. She did that by telling me that she had no problem with it, but that the Impala and SVT would have to go. I thought long and hard, I hope I made a good choice.

LMAO! Well if you passed up a G8 GXP then I'd call that a mistake. I looked for one and couldn't find any, then missed out on a 05 CTSV. Oh well the truck will be gone Monday or Tuesday. I'll just have to settle on the TL and its buttery smooth shifting.......just sucks driving the geo even more to work after driving that TL.
