it was tried before and no one wanted to pay for it ...

also if you want a group buy for it do the leg work and set it up.

looking at the link in the first post, I would say the leg work is done. All thats really needed is 5 people.


ok, I didn't look that closely. I saw the image wasn't of a contour lim and didn't think any more of it.

so in that case i hope you come up with 5 people then.

Its just a generic picture. i emailed them for more information to confirm this as well as the hp gain expectation. That's going to depend on what else you;ve got going on the car. If its paired with the upper intake extrude honing, your going to see more. let's see what they say. I've got a blower so obviously more than a stock setup. I'll add that the difference between the late models, aka the 2000's over the 98s is a 5 hp difference due to the upper intake manifold. The lower intake manifold here is a bigger improvement so i would say more than 5 hp, maybe 10.
 
Do you think they'd be willing to completely eliminate the secondaries and fill the holes from the shaft holding the butterflies? If so I may be interested.
 
This is Matt from SHO Source. Hopefully Mike will chime in as he is the one in charge of the tooling.

We have everything ready to go. We just need the 5 people to show that there is a demand. We have both styles of intakes so it will work on earlier versions.

We do want to help support you guys we jsut need to know that there is enough demand. We already cut the requirement down.

I belive that the SHO Shop showed 5-7hp on a 2.5 and it was more for a 3.0. This would fit:

Contour 2.5
Cougar 2.5
Taurus 3.0 (need to make sure its the same or can easily transfer over)

As far as removing the butterflies if it is like the V6 SHO it will kill the lower end. If it is like the V8 SHO it isn't as big of a deal.

We will be trying for other Contour parts.

It would be going on a 3L Vortech Centrifugal SCr setup so losing a little low end won't be an issue.
 
Mike here, and I am the one who who will actually do the disassembly, CNC and reassembly.

Although I am coming to this thread a little late, it sounds like most questions have been answered.

Although I would not recommend removing the shafts and plugging the shaft holes, if someone wants this done, I will do it for them at no extra charge. I just need to have a note attached so I know what you want.
