Holy wide screen on youtube. Sweet!
Ford has always been a big name not only in quality but in value, as well. Since the late 70s, despite the media's relentless badgering, Ford has been producing quality vehicles. To say that owning a Ford is an embarassment is really the wrong thing to say, IMO.for the first time in my life, it think i'm actually proud to own a ford.

I'm not looking for an argument here, but I can safely say that Fords have been some of the most reliable, well-built cars on the road for exactly that time period. Hopefully, LauraSVT will jump in here, as he is much more knowledgeable than me and shares the same point of view.
It is no secret that Ford was bashed by the media for the last 20 years because it wasn't Japanese or European. Don't mix that up with them actually building bad cars.
The problem is that Ford has been so blah for a long time. No car was COTY worthy, and I can't really think of a car I would be "proud" of owning out of their regular line-up (not including some Mustangs, a couple SVTs). The old Taurus for example was a good seller, but it was bland inside, bland outside, just bland. Finally they are taking risks when it comes to styling and it seems to be paying off.

Yeah. Being "reliable" and having "quality" are two different things. Ford has had some reliable vehicles, I don't doubt that. But Ford hasn't been known for high-quality since...well I can't remember the day. Now, they've never been as bad as Dodge, I would say, but they earned their reputation for a reason. Just compare a 1999 Contour to a 1999 Accord and you'll instantly see the difference. Which saddens me, because my 1995 Mystique was on-par or better than my old roommate's Accord EX of the same year.
But, Ford is definitely on top when it comes to the Big Three these days. And actually? I'm proud to say that, too.
The V10 in the truck was the 6.0 correct? My dad would complain quite a bit about that engine, used to work for a Ford parts dealer. Thankfully they stepped away from that whole mess.
GM is waaaaaay more boring than Ford, when it comes to a vast majority of their vehicles. "Give it 4 doors and throw the 3800 in there."But nothing beats the absolute crap that Dodge has put out for the last 40 years.
