Daytona Coupe progress

Ha 5'6", I didnt know they stacked sh.. that high. You trying to squeeze an inch in there on me? Well since I don't have an adjustable seat on the drivers side I doubt your oompa loompa legs will reach the pedals.

The non-adjustable seat is smart, this way, noone else, unless they're your exact height can drive it (not that you would let them anyways) I picked up that Mini in the spring down in West Palm and it too had a fixed seat and the guy was 5'9"-5'10" but I was ok driving it though.

Trust me, even if you threw me the keys while out there on the Dragon, "Captain Slow" wouldn't even want to drive it anyways. Don't have the skill set to drive a car like that down there. I still love my rep for being such a slow driver too, thanks to everyone who deemed me that, it really helped me sell my CSVT 5 years ago for $10k!

Hey Josh, you got some interior shots?

No interior shots yet other than the dash photo posted in the dragon run thread. Haven't got carpet in it yet since there is still body filler dust in the air.

I wear a size 12-12.5. Whats the point of this again? LOL

It all started with the lack of footwell room in the Daytona coupe'

I really can't wait to see/hear that car down there next year, only 310 days to go for our group to check it out inperson!

Nope, none yet. Ive been working on radiator ductwork and inner fenders. Just have to pull the hood back off and glass some brackets on to brace the inner fenders and paint some undercoating on the bottom of the hood and its time for primer.

don't undercoat. Finish the underside body color, or at least gloss black. The additional shine creates more depth, makes the space look bigger, and adds a reflection of the motor...

The bottom of the hood also serves as the top of the inner fenders. It will get undercoated to help protect the paint on the top side. If a rock is in the tread and gets thrown upward it could spider the fiberglass and paint. Gonna pull the hood tomorrow.
Heres an updated pic.

good point...Have you considered tintable spray on bedliner? Provides the protection you are looking for, but doesn't suck the light up like undercoat, and is easier to clean...

Everything under my hood is black, valve covers, water pump etc. There is a company called grizzly grip that makes a smooth texture roll in bedliner im gonna try on the hood.

cool...I probably should have either asked what color you were painting it, or read all the thread. Much cooler project than the standard cobra...

For me to paint the bottom side of it would take putting filler over the whole bottom side of the hood and block sanding the whole thing. Im not gonna put another 100hrs into this hood just so the bottom side of it can get pummeled by rocks and crap on the roads and race track. Waste of time and Im sick of bodywork. The frame is black, all my underhood panels are coated black, valve covers, water pump, engine bolts, carb is partially, and distributor. Black bedliner is perfect.

Its gonna be Honda Accord Belize blue pearl with GM arctic white stripes and roundels.

Should be a cool color combo...Any thought to dusting some pearl over the stripes?
