Contours in Media

I do agree to an extent, we are all freak'in out b/c we saw a contour on a movie. a little pathedic. but I remember when i had my PGT and was flipp'in out b/c i saw a probe on Batman Begins. Everyone looked at me like i was a freak'in idiot. But this is a contour enthusiast forum.......sooooo............... :shrug:

Absolutely agreed. I can't believe CSVT elitism exists to begin with. The car isn't THAT different.

I saw a champagne pre98 Mystique driving down the road on a pan shot of the Winfred-Lauder building on a Drew Carey Show repeat tonight. Also saw a Light Prairie Tan 98+ Contour on an episode of COPS the other night.

(stupid winter ... I'm watching far too much TV now that I have cable ...)

I know the CSVT isn't that much different than the others, its just much more rare. It's like if there were a million Ferrari's driving around then it wouldn't be so exciting to see one as it would be if they were so rare.

I know this is a contour enthusiast sight but do you think on the civic forums they post about civics they've seen on tv? Sorry if you guys don't agree with me on this one, but it's just my opinion.
 
Haha, what do you mean guys? That SVT was 3 and 5 in the street racing, I bet those other guys had mad tyte ignitions and shift kits.

Who cares if an SVT is "more rare" You use Ferrari as an example. I bet the Ferrari owners say "geez.. who cares if there was a ferrari on that show.. it wasn't a Modena, so why waste your time talking about it?"

Same thing.. to YOU, ANY Ferrari is "cool" but "normal Contours" are not. its your level on the totem pole.

Those owners who HAVE GLs, LXs or SEs might feel a little diffrerently than you and to THEM, it is THEIR CAR.. not "just" a Contour.

So lighten up.. and try to think about how others might feel before you belittle ANYTHING, even a Grandma driven, faded-headlight, underpowered, oversteering, fleet car like the Contour, ok?

Also, Although much more rare to see a Ferrari or Lambo in the streets, they are everywhere in the media.. So, IMO the rarity of seeing a stock basic Contour in the media is far > than seeing a Ferrari or Lambo in the media...IMO:shrug:

I used to spectate street racing all the time, but never brought my SVT there. Always rode with my friends so my car wouldn't be out there:laugh:
 
Honestly...racing off the track is just plain stupid...regardless of the situation. I cruise down to University to hang out and look at others' cars, not to race em...but right on.
 
Yeah, Ferraris are rarely spotted in the media.:rolleyes:

Anyone remember the name of that TV show that featured a detective cruising around in his prize Contour?
 
I did a Google image search for "Contour automobile" (but not in quotes) and pulled up 32,100 hits.

A Google image search for "Ferrari automobile" (also not in quotes) pulled up 672,800 hits.

Lol, when all of my friends were silent in fear in the theater, I yelled, "Hey, look a post98 Contour!" out of habit and they all punched me. :rolleyes:

Well I still point them out when I see them on the highway :rolleyes: . Rare or not, I like em. Pre98, post98, svt... they're all good

In my building complex there are 6 contours and 1 svt, which is mine.
It seems like i see them everywhere.
Who ever said regular contours are not that much different than the svt contour needs to study up on the changes between the cars.

I always see a homo looking kid driving a purple contour. He drives it like he thinks its fast lol.

You're comparing an entire make to a model. Next time try searching for "Ford automobile" or a specific Ferrari model against ford contour or ford mondeo and see what you come up with.

But even then, What's your point?

I even did the pointing and Exclamation "Ford ConTooouuurrr!"

Is it just me, but do other people also point and say ford contour when they see one; when there driving around?
example:
"I have to go to wor, FORD CONTOUR!!!, (pointing motion), ...k in a minute. What are u doing later? (estranged look on friends face)
