Contour Supercharger Test subject

The Dyno was the same as far as I could tell. This dyno definitely puts out a little less than normal from what we've seen. Eitherway I'm happy with the numbers.

OUTSTANDING! Well done for sure! That's actually better than I expected...

Just gotta throttle the system back a bit for the ATX guys. I think (know) the CD4E would go into meltdown under that kind of stress!

WOW...cant wait to hear a price...

3000+

So this was a 105Hp gain over your 3liter and how much tq did you gain.

Great numbers though. How did the belt hold on top rpms? Also if you change maf, are you going with a lightning maf?

i'd like to see the TRQ a little higher. is it tuned for the supercharger yet? maybe the timing could be adjusted or more fuel added to keep the torque high. i know my car had more torque (this is with the nitrous i'm talking about) with a ton of fuel..... acutally it had more torque than HP. anyhow, im impressed!

and saving.......haha

The tq numbers are perfect it already spins enough off the line. The extra tq would be useless. Keep it in the upper rpms and it's fast enough.

As far as the MAF I have an 80mm lightning MAF which I'm going to go with.

For price I'm looking around $3,000 for a 2.5L kit. I'm not sure on a 3L kit yet.

Very nice! The community couldn't ask for better forced induction options, and both are homebrewed. Great work!

Well I didn't know Mark sold it until yesterday. Hmmm

Anyway the point is still made that if someone blows their Vortec kit they may be able to get the head units rebuilt and purchase a different kind of bracket kit from Blackcoug and then of course they can purchase upgrades like intercoolers from him too.

I also want to point out that neither the turbo kit nor this kit have been tested in any real long term reliability. The Vortec kit does have a few kits that never failed but sometimes it took a while for stuff to break.
I would say that this represents a momentous mark on the wall for the supercharger system and it bodes well for the future though. We still really need a video of the car idling so we can see the belt system in action and then revving the engine to see how its going to look under load and how it sounds.

It won't be possible for those with current Vortech kits to switch over to this kit using their head unit. The original Vortech kits were clock wise and the head unit I use is counter clockwise.

Who has one that didn't fail?? Anyone who's still using one has the revised parts form knukoncepts (i think he made them). Buckshot is actually the only person i can think of who still uses a vortec. Anyone else just doesn't drive the car then lol! seriously though. i'm pretty sure they all broke!

Chris wong has the original (unrevised) but he does not put many miles on the car, and everything was triple measured for clearance and alignment when installed.

Even the knuconceptz can shear, as was seen with worldtours old blower.

One fix I have not seen in action, that may prove to be a solution was done by Stazi to tazi's old blower (now sold to someone down souf) which involved some cutting and welding, eliminating any kind of toothed set up.

The final version of the vortech design was actually pretty good. One individual in the classifieds has it for sale. Which if you read his lists he has had it for some time now without any problems.

ahhh i disagree with the torque comment chris...... my car made 295 on the dyno before it blew and i could make that hook i agree your car has wicked spin.......... i just don't see any amount of power ever being too much.

You aren't makin that hook without some drag radials...or the car being in third gear.
