Contour/Mondeo Race car clone??

yeah, I thought this thread was worth a resurrection since I'd never noticed it, and I really wish someone would make us some fenders and a splitter like on the rapid fit cars...

also BTCC Mondeo > Mirko Contour

Or you could go custom with the splitter .

Also BTCC Mondeo, Mirko Contour, Rob with the Black SVTC race car, boumacj with the Bondurant SVT and anyone else with a race car/race prepped Contour > Regular Contour/Cougar/Mystique.

then make some. It isnt THAT hard to make fiberglass parts. If you have the motivation to make something, then use it. If it turns out well, you might even be able to turn a profit on it. Fenders are really easy parts to make compared to a lot of other stuff

well unless somebody else does it first, thats the plan eventually. thing is, I don't have $800 to drop on an original prodrive BTCC splitter to use it for measurements, and getting info on the part is pretty hard. I know, I've asked around on the mondy boards...

the fenders should be fairly easy though, just need to pick up a spare set of stockers to work off of.

I just don't see why nobody else is interested in the idea...

I wouldn't mind any set of wider fenders/fender flare. I know there are already fender flares made for this car and I'll get them, just when I get wheels to fill them.

Nvm. It's the way you pointed out.

fender flairs look good on some cars, but I think they'd look super rice/ghetto on a contour. the point of the car is flowing lines, not crisp bolted on lines. fender flairs would look good on a cougar or a focus or really anything with the new edge styling, but definitely not on a contour, at least not without some sort of body kit to match, and I think thats going too far for a car you plan to actually drive...

at any rate, making some fenders wouldn't be the hard part. getting the specs for the prodrive splitter is the hardest part, and then sculpting a replica from something I could take a mold from would be the next biggest pain...
