CF Lexus 2IS brings to you some CF LOVE!

Invest a chunk of money under the hood, black headlights, tint those windows and you have a BEAUTY. And I like the white with carbon fiber. Are those wheels actually carbon fiber all the way through?

I decided to go "show" over "go" first because im very constant in the car show scene and always attend the major car shows and some local shows....

I have some "go" mods coming up soon! :D

As for the Carbon on the wheels, i don't know the exact process but i know it's real Carbon..

Yes i actually did get sponsored by Strasse Forged and i'm glad i did! I absolutely LOVE these wheels! You should see the look on people's face's at redlights! :D

Btw, i left the headlights and the chrome moulding around the windows alone because i wanted something to match the High Polished Lips on the wheels.

I actually see my old Zetec cruising around town every now and then but the new owner hasn't kept her up to good shape... :(

As for changing the "Backspacing" on my rear wheels, they were custom built by the guys at Strasse Forged & I to give it the "HellaFlush" look with custom offsets and fitments... They actually were able to give me the biggest lips possible and built the front wheels around my Rotora 6 POT BBK...

I also stretched my tires for the fitment...
 
Can't wait to paint my CSVT white and throw on all the CF goodies I have! When I get my camera I will take pictures to update my thread! There is almost nothing in he engine bay!

The car once again is great. I love the stretched tires with the fitment. I wouldn't listen to anyone here.

I'm going to be the douche for once (debataby) and say, "Then why post it?"

I'm not sure why "backspacing" is in quotes, but I guess it makes as much sense as "HellaFlush"... I get your wheels were custom-made, but that still doesn't explain why the lip is out past the rear fender (also, by definition it means they're not flush). Stretching the tires seems like an attempt to correct this. In fairness, I hate the stretched tire look, so that's informing some of my thinking.

I guess I just don't get why throwing a ton of CF and ridiculously expensive wheels on a base-model, no-go mod Lexus doesn't yield the same mockery as it would on a non-GT Mustang or a non-WRX Impreza. I'm just behind the times, I s'pose....

On a serious, genuinely non-mocking note: can your wheels yellow/haze?

x3... Cause he is posting what he likes. Constructive Criticism is welcomed by many, But your saying/thinking something silly here.

He goes to car shows all the time, by decision he has went the aesthetic route for this reason. He also is the one that is sponsored by his decision to do this. Im unsure about your car...

He also has some go on the way as he stated. Some people focus on going fast and going to the track/strip. Some people like to cruise/show and look good. Get it?

Completely. And I'll admit to being wrong on one point - upon closer inspection, it looks like the fronts' offset is worse than the rear. I'll be the first to admit that I don't show my car - it's a DD, a bit rough around the edges, and is awaiting a 3L. So, is there an aesthetic/show advantage to having wheels that are too wide to find under the fenders?

Otherwise, I feel what I stated stands: if someone dumped a sh*t-ton into aesthetic mods on different base-model car, even under the pretense of "Show", they'd be called a ricer. Again, I don't show, but I thought car shows rewarded for go-fast mods as well?

Yea, because some people like the look of it. Personally I don't care for leopard print, but some people think it looks good, should I call them stupid for liking it? No.:shrug: To each his own.

He's obviously put a lot of thought and love in the car and I think it shows. Having a go-fast car mostly just takes money, having a good looking car takes actual skill. Who cares if its base model? A lexus is250 is still a nice car, fast or not.
 
Woah woah woah - I never called anyone "stupid". That's the weird thing about forums - actual constructive criticism, or anything other than outright praise, is "hating". I get plenty of negative comments when I post my car (before I had a spoiler people didn't like, now they think my forged wheels are too small), but such is the nature of the anonymous internet and I expect that. I didn't think I was posting particularly offensive or unintelligent comments (say, about "punching babies"), but whatever.

This would suck, but regardless he is sponsored im guessing he will get free rims for life? LOL, No seriously another set of the same rims or at the least a good buff/polish to keep the cf fresh. :crazy:

The wheels look good to me along with the way they are sitting.

Im unsure if you ever went to a car show, seems like you didnt but different classes and trophies for sickest rims or sickest car of show, best lexus, best ford, best ford contour, best daily track car are just some of the many categories of shows.
