Carlisle 2010 discussion

I finally got around to registering. woot!

I still need to look into hotel arrangements, and what day we'll be heading down there.

I'll be walking around like i have for the past 3 years. Dont want to show the Mercury mostly cuz its not at all show worthy and there is no way the Tempo will be ready. I'm only doing springs and shocks on it this weekend. Still have to build the trans and finish the engine, oh and lower control arms, manual steering rack, tie rod ends, brakes, and a little bit of body work.... i'll probably be anti-social like i am every year and not say high. i dont like big crowds. You WILL see my Tempo there next year though.

get your ass busy and finish it. and show it this year.

Its more like "Make some more damn money so you can finish it!"

just spent 350 on springs and struts. They're goin on Saturday. But now i'm broke until i'm on call again for work lol.

Anyone want to donate so i can show this year? i only need about 2,000 bucks to get the engine finished and the trans built....

i'll make enough money by the time the show comes around to get the manual steering rack, brakes, control arms and all the other small things. I dont need to have the body work done.

Holiday Inn East is like 5 min from our house...there's a Harbor Freight about 2 blocks from the hotel if you're interested...

We'll have to come check you guys out. :)

I thought you didn't have enough vacation time available this year.
I vote you attend SZ instead of Cougarfest. :p

wouldn't be the whole time, just saturday since it can be done as a day trip.

not sure on SZ still. have some other things working which might rule it out too this year, only time will tell.

ok so I'm itching to book my Carlisle hotel right now, but I want to room where most of you are going to be.

I checked out Hotel Carlisle prices the other day and I got quoted $160 per night. Not really ideal pricing, but also not too bad considering the event going on. We stayed there in 2007 and I recall they had a good amount of parking available for trailers and other vehicles.
But I know that a few of you are soured by Hotel Carlisle from past experience.
And a good chunk of you are camping now.

Does anyone want to get a hotel discussion going?
I think it would be fun to stay at the same hotel for late night hanging out after dinner or whatever.

well Im thinking about going to a hampton inn again this year. I was going to use rewards points again but they upped it and Im not going to have enough in time. I stayed at the mechanicsburgh one and that worked out. Hotel carlisle isn't bad but it isnt that great either, imho. Also the mechanicsburgh one isn't to far from Pauls place. We went over there last year too.

I'm camping again, just don't wanna spend so much on the hotel. But I will be heading over to visit wherever everyone decides to meet up, providing designated driver services. The place we camp at is called Western Village RV campground. If anyone feels like camping, you're welcome to join us, BUT MAKE SURE YOU DON"T SIGN UP TO CAMP WHEN YOU REGISTER, as we stay off fairgrounds. Just an FYI.
