In the NE, we have a crazy Pirate that volunteers as a designated driver, too. His ship is pretty comfy, as Ryan can attest when he wanted to sleep in the car following a night of revelry.

He real expensive tastes when it comes to his alkyhol... Also never insult him by turning it down when he offers you a glass. :D

It was more comfortable than sleeping on the ground! Although that night, I would'nt have known the difference.

P.S. I'm definitely in for camping again this year. I imagine my brother might come again too since I think he enjoyed it.

I took leave on the wrong end of April dammit! I still might try and make it though. I grew up in eastern ohio about 40 min. outside of Pittsburgh and i've always heard about Carlisle and wanted to go but never made it. Now theres talk of cool cars and campfire cooked breakfast foods so a fat kid has to make an effort right?

I think All Fords usually falls during the first week of June. Will that not be good for when you took leave?

AFN is June 4-6, 2010 this year.
Cougarfest is July 8-11, 2010 in HARRISBURG.

*If you register for AFN, our club/group is in the drop-down box!

I'll be registering when it gets closer to June. The breakdowns between stock and modified are tight for me. One more mod and I'm "considered" modified. so yeah...

Soooo... I looked at the site, for the AFN, and it's like - a giant flea market?

Obviously I've never been to this, so it's like a huge car show for Ford vehicles and people selling parts ect?

and.. what's this camping you guys speak of? This sounds like something I might enjoy

its half car show, half swap meet. the fairgrounds are pretty large.

they have space to camp onsite at the fairgrounds or some go to a local camp site near by. The rest of us normally stay at the hotel carlisle. last year and it looks like again this year I will be staying at the Hampton Inn in Mechanicsburgh since I can get a free rewards stay for the weekend.

It's many things at once. There's a massive car show with fields of any model Ford you could ever imagine, and Ford counterparts like Lincolns, Mercurys, even Jaguars, Volvos, Mazdas, etc.
There's judging for prizes for the cars.
There are other events like hot model competitions, 4 wheelers, etc etc etc.
And yeah, there's an area where people can sell car parts like a flea market.
There's also a pavillion where you can buy cars too.

There's plenty to do and see.

The only part that wasnt fun was the damn sunburn...

As of now, it doesnt look like ill be making it, and IF i do, it will be for a day on the bike(given that i get it running again)

I HOPE to make it to Carlisle... Well I mean, I hope my car can make it to Carlisle... A neighbor at my parents house backed into my drivers side front door last weekend. It's far from bad, but it is dented and scratched up. Bad enough that I wouldn't take it to a show without getting it fixed. She wants to pay out of pocket so that means I can take the money now and fix it once the weather turns. I just hope I can get it done in time for the show.
