Carlisle 2010 discussion

so have any of you actually registered yet?

I've only been to one Carlisle before, and I've missed the past couple years of drama.
Is there anything special we need to do?

Not that I know of. I missed last year's due to an engine failure...:o. I'll be there this year. I think you can just go onto carlisleevents.com and go to the ford nats. and click register.

I dont know if this will be possible for me, maybe for the NE-CEG crew it will be. I DO know that if you "register" more than one car per name, the tickets are cheaper. I also know that some of the NE-CEG crew live rather close to each other. Save money?
- I don't know if this is possible, but it's worth a try for some.

^ Cars must be registered to same address for this.

Ryan, what do you keep doing to your car before Carlisle? Bad juju, son.

You know you'd still wanna come, bad door or not.

Exactly how are they going to know? Some of you NE-CEG'rs can easily tell them that you all live/stay at the same residence.

It was worth a try to bring it up. I'm just thinking about economy that's all.

who did most of the tent organizing and all of that fun contact stuff for our group last year?

Allen has been handling it for years. not sure about last year. he was suppose to come but got sick and didn't make it.

iirc its $125 for the tent. I'll gladly chip in as we really should/can use it.

x2. I'll chip in some as well. The year i went, (two years ago), it was blistering hot out. Almost to the point where Linda looked like she was going to pop. Glad we had the tent that year.

IIRC, I thought Scott (Zerohour) was dealing with them about the tent and about them not separating us again this year. I thought he said he talked to the guy i charge about it, and they were comping us a tent to make up for last year.

yeah there was something about that in this thread. what was the outcome?

if need be, I can try to get a hold of the promoter and see what I can work out...but I think we should plan on paying for the tent. We were comp'd for last year's tent and we didn't make the 25 registered to get this year's tent.

Good deal. I'll chip in if needed, as well. That being said, I have access to 2 tents, each about 10x10, that my wife uses for car cruises. They're not as big as the one we get from the AFN, but they would be free. Let me know.

I left a voicemail for Patrick, their media and PR guy....anyone else have any contact numbers I can try in the meantime?

here's the deal:

I spoke to Rick Markko, the event promoter today...he will make sure that our club is placed together regardless to the SVT designation. He remembered the problems we had the last couple of years and said he would make sure we have a "wonderful time" at Carlisle...moving on...the tent will cost $170 plus tax. We will have to order the tent prior to AFN...if we register 25 members THIS YEAR, then the tent will be free, if we don't, then we will get charged.

Some other things to think about...Rick indicated that the Contour SVT's would not be with the other Ford SVT's if that's what we wanted...since the SVT's seemed to be located closest to the grandstand, CEG as a club would probably be placed in a less desirable location as a result. To be clear, there will be NO non-SVT's in the SVT area, that is not an option. Additionally, since there appears to be relatively weak interest in folks attending AFN (as compared to other years) people that do attend may have to contribute up to $20 in order to get the tent. Also, I don't know what the cut-off date is for the tent and the 25 member registration, but can find out later if that's the route we decide to go.

People who plan to attend should chime as it should be a club decision regarding how CEG is represented at this show. I still have to send Rick an email confirming our decision and stating I am the new CEG contact for AFN.
