Alarm Clocks

ugh .. roughly once a year I sleep in during a work day.

For years now I've set two alarms, cell phone and regular alarm clock, spaced 1/2 hour apart.
The advantage, as well, is that the cell phone won't die during a power outage.

I usually set 3 cell phone alarms along with the alarm clock, but my phone was left at my sister's BF's place yesterday. It slipped out of my pocket an into the couch during a nap, ironically enough.:blackeye:

I sleep through ANYTHING. The only thing I can really do is just get a set sleeping pattern, that way my body will wake up naturally. I even snooze my alarms and/or turn them off in my sleep. Really.

ditto on a sleep schedule. but it sucks when you wake up at 6:30 on your day off even with the alarm turned off ....

Nonsense. It makes your day longer and more enjoyable

yeah involving almost taking a nap mid day because I was getting tired, then staying up to amost 5 am and getting up around 8 the next morning and passing out on the couch for a few hours that afternoon and then staying up til about midnight and getting up at 8 the next morning and then staying up til 3 am ....

yeah my weekend sleep schedule is getting messed up but thats ok

well during the week it isn't to bad. just have trouble getting up in the morning. alarm is set for 5 am but I roll out of bed around 6:20 now instead of ~6 ...

Pretty much the same story here...

I work until 11pm at night on either 2 or 3 weeknights, then I get home, go to bed, have the alarm set for 5:25am, but I'm never out of bed before 6. This morning I wasn't up until 7 :blackeye:. It's a good thing I'm not full-time yet so I have no real restrictions on when I have to be in to work...Every Thursday I have to be here for 7:30am for a meeting, though, and I usually get here at 7:30 on two other days during the week as well. Not to mention I have a 40-minute commute .

Getting up is IMPOSSIBLE!

I like having flexable hours but still prefer getting the time in earlier in the day over later in the day, even with not being able to get up in the mornings as much anymore.

My India coworkers work interesting hours. To avoid rush-hour traffic, some of them arrive around 10 or 11am ... but they also don't leave until 9 or 10pm. I've gotten IMs around noontime (EST) from them sometimes

How very imperceptive of you. :p
I think if you knew what the rush hour traffic is like there, you'd be avoiding it at all costs too. An hour and a half to drive ten kilometers? No thanks..

Every Monday and Tuesday is a pain. By Wednesday I'm back on track with the sleep schedule.. only to break it once again on Friday .

If you have a computer, speakers and MP3 alarm freeware, these songs are sure to wake you up (from my experience):
Prodigy - Spitfire
Rammstein - Feuer Frei

The latter is more effective at high volume, since you *will* immediately wake up upon the first few quiet notes, jump out of bed and dash to the computer to shut it off just before the first chord shakes the walls :)

The downside, is you will grow to hate those songs whenever you hear them.
