99 Csvt Vs 2003 Tiburon Gt V6

i dont think so. my brother has an 06 tib, we race all the time. i got a completly stock 98 svt. more than likely, you will spank him if you have the slightest idea of how to drive your car. altohough they do pull hard in second and begining of 3rd, after that they just make noise. tiburons are overpriced and underpowered. there hard to drive right. 50/50 chance everytime no matter how good a driver you are. i raced an 03 a few years back and pulled him in every gear. he had an intake. and exshaust. plus the 6 speed slows them down to me. but dont get me wrong, it will be a close race, but i see no reason you wont win, unless you suck at drive. bottom line contour wins either way with a decent driver.
 
I think a well maintained SVT Contour should take a Tiburon GT without surprise. The Tib has low end torque but falls flat on it's ass after ~60mph.
 
You know, I said this thread is fantastic for two reasons:

a) a bunch of my friends are pwning my car, but it's funny so I dont care and
b) Tiburon owners (not me) think an SVTC would lose sorely..

and I lol. :laugh:

You and I are on the same page. The Tib is a very portly 2-door vehicle. Even with the enlarged V6 it still has poor gearing and a lot of weight to pull. Good out of the hole because of power/weight/traction. Slovenly above that point because of the same reasoning.

im so glad im a part of this forum. not to imply that we never have BS information around here, but it usually gets corrected by lots of people really quick.

Power to weight its worse than the CSVT and it would just be downhill from there for the poor Tibby.

LOL......I think he said that as I was a ford mastertech , I was unfortunately a driveability tech for the Berge ford dealership out here for more years than I ever should have been, as far as any of the SVT platforms .....the only ones I truely liked were the Mustang SVT and the earlier SVT lightnings.The Contour or the ****whore as we so lovingly refer to it as was just a complete piece of unadulterated crap, it was no faster than the crap SHO with the slow shifting, gear eating MTX75 manual trans that they put in the ignition module eating piece of garbage, sorry but a 15.10 quarter mile is not a fast quarter mile for something that was suppose tobe perfomance based.......Ford always came out with the latest and greatest Ideas that just never really seem to live up to where their performance should have been..........I'm not saying Ford is junk, I'm just saying they made alot of it

Yeah but talking through PMs these guys aren't so bad as they might come off sounding. I just found it funny a few of them took real offense that I even brought up the SVT Contour lol.
