3L vs. VR6

a vr6 in what?

if you are talking about a corrado or jetta..... the corrado or jetta would probably have the advantage in most situations due to weight. If you are talking about a toureg..... well, lets just say your contour could probably take it.
 
I believe in the C&D comparision test, the SVTC out performed a VR6 Jetta in every performance catagory. A Golf might be a different story. It would probably come down to being a drivers race.
 
^ wow. LMAO. every car has business drag racing if you think about it. Its not always about speed.


Is the VR6 a GTI? i drove a GTI 6 speed last week and it was really quick with just basic mods. I've only ever driven one SVT and it had about 165K on it all stock, and i think it'd hold its own, but a 3L i'm sure would win, if i could hook up off the line.
 
it is about speed, but also consistancy, reaction time, and skill. You can drag race with a slow car and have just as much fun.

shut it noob. if someone wants to drag race a moped, they're allowed to. when u find a rule anywhere that states the supposed drag car has to run a certain time in the quarter mile dragrace, pls post it & i'll agree with u. until then, anyone can drag whatever the heck they want.
 
I only been a member for 2 years and I can already see that there is a whole new wave of noobs coming that will get flammed, lasered, eaten by the dragon emoticon and prolly a few will get banned too just for not knowing when to zip it from time to time. Moderators just get ready to meditate and count back from 10 lol

If kids can get out here in their Civics/Preludes/Accords or whatever else and run 11's in the 1/8th mile then everyone else has "business" running their Contour at the dragstrip.

What is it exactly you have or drive that's quick enough to drag race BTW?

I agree....I have only been a member for 1 yr and have seen quite a few new guys thinking they know it all.

But on the subject who really cares which one is faster?
