3L is toast

Ok so I got to tear down my 3l and find the root of all evil today. I thought it was a simple thing at first and she would be up and running in no time. Wrong! I am now looking for a replacement motor. so off to the pics. The first few are of the first problem I found. We have a 3L crank timing gear thrown in with all 2.5L timing equip.

Then I decide to pull off the cams on the front head to see if I can look up the pt# and figure out if I have indeed got SVT cams. Well what do I find? Nothing good here! This is what it all boils down to.

For good measure I threw on one of the 19's real fast to see what I thought of them.... I am keeping the 18's for sure.

Ya I am sourcing a motor right now. It will just be so much easier to buy another and put all the things on it off the car then pull and drop. Im figuring unless I can get someone to give me a set of heads that it will be just as much money either way after I get a head and get headgasket kit etc....
 
If you wait 2 weeks when i shoot down to NC i will sell you heads for $100 if you want them..... just thought i would throw that out if you want to keep that motor..... no actually their 2.5L svt heads will they work ? not up to date on the 3.0L stuff yet....:crazy:

I have a set of svt heads if I wanted to do a hybrid but I am just trying to get it back on the road. My help and my other timing parts are supposed to be here this weekend so I need a set of 3l heads by the end of the week! HELP! lol
 
so who'd you buy this car from again?

this is why i'm deathly afraid to buy a 3L from just anyone....
I bought the car knowing it was broke so that isn't an issue here really. I just now figured out what exactly was broke. Now I need a new head or a new motor.

maybe i can swing by and throw some wrenches at it
my svt is still 20k bucks..... (it runs)
