Dan, there you go and if you guys are new to Xceedspeed, make sure you let them know who you are, this goes for you noobs looking to go over there. With the CEG going down from time to time its good to have another outlet, you just gotta get used to the new feel over there, its a little different than before.

Here's the info that was passed along to me:

Dragon Pit Inn details
call 865-253-3566 or 865-253-3565 to make your reservation. It is run by a husband and wife couple. They know the dates we will be there and everybody can call on their own to reserve their own room. They will charge one night's stay to hold the room $74.21 ($64.95+tax). If you cancel at least 30 days before you get your money back. Tell them you are with the group "Roger from Deetroit." We will get a 10% discount if we rent 6 or less rooms and a 15% discount if we rent more than 6 rooms. They will calculate the discount and give it to us when we show up. Call me if you have any questions
 
Well this one has a good reason though, the up and down nature the past couple monthes but the info needs to stay in here no matter what....remember guys, there's a new location to stay, well, for this year anyways.
 
Same place for me again this year. ;) Would like to get this thing running soon. I got my tools to finish the fuel hoses. I need some fittings and mo hose to do the oil cooler.

Engine of the year, period!

Now as far as the Dragon run this year, well, its still on but its going to be different for sure. Ever since the closing of the original thread on xceed I haven't felt like posting there too much. Its left a worse taste in my mouth then the last 2 years heading home Sunday trips, where I just couldn't understand all the ripping on everone's ride (actually mine mostly) I thought it went too far IMO and now we've got the original thread closed, another one started and no reservation thread even, its 6 monthes away. I also find it ironic that SZ is also going to be scaled down this year but for another reason though but nonetheless, 2 iconic staples here are on the ropes in their current form.

178 more days for us to get our sheet together!
 
Yea, he brought last year. The funny thing is when I was tring to play catch up last year a Silverado SS was on my ass. Not for too long tbough lol.

That advice would've been great before it got so big but its a monster now. I hope you still attend the run this year Josh, I really want you and Eric there for sure since its the 10th annual run.

Matt, bring the Lightning for sure if you can and if you can't make it, we understand, I know you've got all the stuff going on with your house and everything that goes along with that.

Eric, yeah, Dennis has brought his truck down there 2 years in a row, modded and all.

As far as how large the run has gotten, well, there are pro's and con's to it, sadly, the last couple years has had more con's than pro's for me personally but its really not because of the size of the group so much, 2 years ago we had a total of 26 cars and last year netted 16 cars total. The new location may solve of the problems, we shall see about that one but after this years run there's going to need to be an evaluation of things for sure about the future of the run.

I seriously think there is too much whining and complaining about this run. I'm excited, but I am tired of the drama; spoken, typed, or implied. Everyone is focusing on the drama and not the actual run. This is frustrating. We are all effing adults and we need to get over whatever we need to get over and move on. Dispite everything that happened, it shouldn't change the run. This has been going on for the last 9 years and some childish bickering and stupidity shouldn't ruin or bring down this run. Roger, you need to let things go that happened the past 2 years. EVERYONE talks smack about other cars, yourself included. Don't be a hypocrite. It's part of the car game.

With that being said, you need to step in and start running this like you have for the last decade. So what if the location changed. It's time to pull in on the reins and take control of YOUR run!
 
Do I need a paint job or a LSD/disc brake rear end? Dang, saying it like that makes it an easy choice..... Ghetto purple may be around a while longer lol.

I second all of this.

Roger, go ahead and create the reservation thread and get involved again. I am sure that taking the reins as Hector said will make you feel much better about everything. If you try and make it a good time, you will have a good time. Organizing these runs is a skill you have, and I am pretty sure nobody can organize it as well as you can. Let's just move on and have a good time.

LSD/disc brake rear end. Use any extra money you have to do some crazy paint scheme with house paint or spray cans.
 
I think that's the way I'll go. I think i'll paint something masculine on the hood. Maybe a unicorn giving a backrub to a dolphin in a heart-shaped hot tub full of rainbows. I dunno. Maybe go lame and paint it white.

That would be fantastic! Godzilla and Mothra riding motorcycles! Just an idea. ;) My paint has a cool splatter effect from the big hail storm a couple weeks ago. Dented up my other cars, but it made the Corolla's paint cooler!
 
I guess I did a good job of setting up the run, but with the NEED to move our location has shown that things have changed and its time to move on. I plan on going to the new location because I wanna do the run like I've been doing since 2003 but I know this for sure, next year will be a different thing all together, this I know for sure. I've already talked about this with some people and its clear that now is the time, well, after this years run anyways. Sadly, this would be the perfect time to hit the "Million Dollar Highway" in CO and NM but with new jobs and no serious vacation time yet, that will have to wait and its no biggie anyways, the road isn't going anywhere.

I will continue to post from time to time and check in to see what's going on and BTW, if anyone has made a reservation at Caney Creek, well, you need to let her know that you don't need the cabin, thanks, we atleast owe that to her.
