Roger, they typically weigh less than 2000 lbs so even the stock 1.8L miata engine makes it move pretty fast. most motorcycle engines will have similar or more power than the 1.8. the only real drawback to a BEC is generally you have to use the trans from the motorcycle as well, which means no reverse gear.

It's up to 246k now, still on original clutch.

That's awesome JK, you should take it to SZ12' and enter it in the survivor class, if there isnt' one, well, you'd win first place then! Testament of how well they can hold up if you beat the crap out of it at meets by smokin' the tires for no good reason, stupid ass'. Did you buy the car brand new? If not, are you sure about the clutch and what not? How about the engine?
 
well sold my csvt i put 35 miles on it. still have the 97 sport though
i sold it for a tank of gas in my f150 i think i came out ahead
mine holds 36 gallons do the math 457.99 a gallon times 36 gallons

Ummm, that's cheap, what kinda of shape was it in? Is the sport a 5 spd? Will you bring it to the Dragon run in the fall?
 
It was in decent shape i sold it for 1600 it had 177k miles interior was great
paint was faded some on outside

the sport is an auto.... but rated at 30mpg with 87 octane not sure if it will get that or not...
Welll when it comes to the dragon i dont think many people bring 500 dollar cars there.
I would love to bring my wr250x supermoto . I might bring it in my truck and ride when i get there.Its not an interstate bike

Its NOT the price of your car, trust me but what IS most important on the $500 car is that the tires/brakes are 100%, its that simple. Our runs are about having a good time with good people with good driving habits, don't worry about the car, make it right and come on out with us!

I am 3rd owner, but I have the complete history on the car. Original engine, trans, clutch, etc. Only mods are the wheels and tires, so far. It was sold new locally and was driven for most of it's life by an air force reserve offficer. Lots of highway miles and serviced by a local Ford dealership while he had it.

Jim, your CSVT is a keeper, you should go to SZ12' and enter the "survivor class"!

The vette road like a tanker truck it only had 40k miles
I miss that thing Dang it would fly to only be 300hp it felt like alot more.Probably my 2011 f150 sadly......

We've had Jim, an Xceedspeed member, bring his truck, a modded S15 out a couple times but its lowered and has 16" GTA wheels though. Matt, another CEG-er here, might end up bringing his gen I Lightning this year, who knows!
