2010 Mustang GT Convertible

that's a pretty cool dealer option...and a whipple no less!! wonder how much scratch it's gonna cost.

Well, 100lbs is typically a tenth in the quarter mile, so it does make at least a little bit of a difference. Maybe less once you're at ~400hp, but it's not nothing.

no, it's not nothing but i'm saying it's not as big a deal as most people make it out to be. from what i remember when i was in the market for a cobra the difference was like .1 or .2 seconds in the 0-60. for all intents and purposes that difference is negligable, especially when you consider how nice having a convertible can be in good weather.

never heard anyone complaining about stiffness either. even people who drag them. hell i think there's some guy on svtperformance that road races his vert!

You know the great thing about convertibles is you get extra weight biased to the rear from that heavy top, and a little more weight in the center from adding the rigidity to overcome the loss of a hardtop.

I'd agree with that. But with Iowa weather, a convertible would just be a hassle during the 6 months that it's not useful and stick to motorcycles if I want to feel the wind.

seems to me like a vert is a much better choice than a bike in that situation. You can put the top up for 6 months of the year, not like it cant be driven, the bike on the other hand, not too good in below zero Iowa winters. At least the vert is year around with one vechile

Am I the only one that thinks verts ruin most cars....that they throw off all body lines and make them look.....odd?

I agree ^^ especially the 350Z's, and G6's...

But there are cars that don't look to bad with a convertible.

yes well obviously a vert is not necessarily practical EVERYWHERE in the US, which just might be why they don't only sell convertibles?

That's true. I have heard, though, that convertibles aren't very fun in the winter - they don't stay as warm, they typically have poorer viewing angles than their hardtop counterparts, and they're more susceptible to break ins.

Maybe!

you know I never noticed you are from des moines. I am just 30 minutes from sioux city. lol

WAAAAY OFF topic.

going back on topic, that reminds me of my dads old galaxy 500 convertible. It didnt matter how hot you could get that engine. With bad weatherstripping, there was no way to keep that car even remotely not cold.

Looks to be an automatic to boot. Would make for a perfect new car for my mother when her Fusion goes back to the dealer. : D

The automatic Mustangs have come a long way. I would consider a car like this as a daily driver, especially if I had a long commute.

I've heard the 5-speed auto is quite a stout piece. I'd certainly rock one considering how many times I've caught myself on I-94 during rush hour gridlock.
