Looking to buy a new motor for the CSVT. Witch size would you suggest? I cant remember what site does the CSVT motors. If you know the site please post the link. Thx!

ok my spanglish needs a bit of work but I'll give it a try...........

The motor in the SVT is a 2.5, but a 3.0 can be put in with some modification. Search the 3L forum or just use the search button.....and a dictionary

ugggg. Don't listen to him. Go straight 3.0L. Most hp/tq, most reliable, easiest/cheapest to install.

sorry but a hybrid has to be the easiest to install, everything connects as stock where as a straight 3L you need to fab a few things up ...

It can be debated...

Going with a straight 3L elminates the need to remove the heads and plug up the oil drain backs. I never had to remove my heads with my straight 3L. You don't have to remove them to port match to the SVT LIM.

X2

How do you not know how big your engine is? It says it on the IMRC cover!

I never said that i did not know what size it was. I know exactally what it is. I'm just looking at buying a new one to mod... dont wanna mod a 111,000 mile motor.

woah buddy wait up. my csvt has got 153,xxx and ill mod it until the day i get a 3L

old mechanics have always said Ford's engines dont break in FULLY untill the 100,xxx mark. and honestly most of them aint wrong. i've been in a couple of Ford's that got 11x,000 and pull just as strong and are realiable as the xx,000mile motor. now it could be hoshwwash but could stand for somthin:shrug:

mod it till it blows......or just go ahead and get a 3L

Mod it out! Everything that I'm aware of with switch over to the 3l. Nothing lost in my eyes. Don't waste a motor that is still strong.

I think your right. My 2.5L (heavily modded, its a non-SVT engine, but puts out 209 bhp and 191lbs/ft, dyno'd @ about 98k) has about 130k on it, and it pulls hard as hell.

I once saw a old tee shirt that said

'Old Fords dont die, they just get faster'
