Looky Looky... KSport

So will you be parking on the street now? Your mirco hit enter/exiting your driveway already...

Before I took a bit of an angle to avoid it... now I take the driveway almost horizontal and then turn my way up the driveway :D

What would be the cons of the bases being made of steel instead of aluminum? Interested in perhaps keeping the mounting tab.

No real con. When it came down to it I fealt I could use the $200 elsewhere. That elsewhere ended up being the camber kit and upgraded camber plates.

I have the fronts set to near max height (probably only 2-3 more complete turns left). The rears have plenty more room to go. I'm also running 17's.

Thats weird. I still have TONS of room to lift mine up. Hell I could make it look like a 4x4 if I wanted to.

Hmmm. That's a bit concerning. I don't know though... there really is only one way to install the strut/coilover. It's not like you can put it in wrong. You also have the exact same camber kit as I do as well... so we're dealing with the same parts. Minus the fact that I do have the later version KSport kit.

Do you have any good pictures of the front setup with the wheels off?

Alright, I'm gonna be ordering these as soon as I can. I give up on my koni/ and GCs. they're GMK's old set-up. I'v been rolling them for 2.5 years and prolly 40,000 miles. The rears are fine but the front when turning the spring is eating away the threaded collar. Like literally as if its binding on the weld or whatever the case may be it wants to jerk the wheel out of my hand and then BOOM the whole wheel/tire/brake assembly just shakes. i cannot believe my wheel bearing is still intact but iv got my new jalopy mustang for a few weeks.

Shouldnt matter though, you should still get the same ride height. The collars dont look like they changed, just a few minor things.

i believe that when the struts are shipped, they are fully uncompressed. this means that if you move the spring perch higher than what it takes for the springs to reach the upper spring seat, you are preloading the springs. I noticed this when i was playing with the rears when i first got them. I had set one strut so that the spring was just touching the upper seat, the other i was trying to raise higher (i wanted more shock travel) so i just kept cranking on it. after a few minutes, i had one shock so the spring perch was noticably higher but whith both of them sitting on the ground, the top of the mounts were the exact same height.

That could be a number of things. Weight per corner can vary and cause spring heights to be different. Should NOT do any drastic changes without scales. You have effectivly jacked your corner weights all to hell.

that was just something i had noticed. I sure as hell didnt install them like that. not that it matters since i sold them when i was parting out the Zetec.

Trust me when i say that i know more about suspensions than most people on here.

You know I got to thinking... your rolling on 19's aren't you? I've only got 17's... so right there you have an extra 2" in just rim then add tires... so that might be the difference.

Same with my ksports. I could have taken them wayyy up or wayyy down!

Reebs what are you rolling on?

I think this would change that a little yes but how much I wonder?

Reebs what are you rolling on?

I belive he was rolling on stock EO's, if he's talking about the black 3L he just sold not to long ago.

Ya I am, dunno if it would make that much difference though. Wouldnt the car be higher?

Yes it would. Which is why you would have it looking like a 4x4 if you had the KSports set the highest. Because if you were rolling 19's with a stock SVT setup you would really be looking like a 4x4. If I drove my car up onto a 2x4 it would effectively be the same height as if I had 19's.

But if Reebs had E0's on his car with the KSports...

The other thing I was wondering about was my sway bar endlink height. I really wasn't sure on where to set those. I may have just half a$$ed it when I set the pinch collar to where the sway bar endlink slid into it when there was no load on the car.
