What's the worst name someone called your car?

Well, removing the badges served their purpose. I took the Contour to the mountains yesterday for a little outing. I stopped to eat and as usual I had to find a parking spot out by itself next to a curb. I had a guy in a M5 BMW with the same idea as me. He ended up parking one space down from my SVT. When he got out, I was already headed for the restaurant. He looked over my car and hurriedly caught up to me at the door. He told me what a nice car I had and wanted to know what it was. He did know what SVT is and had never seen a car that looked like that. I told him it was a Contour SVT and I had removed or covered up all the badging. I don't think he believed me when I told him the car was 14 years old. Made me feel good that someone with a super nice car thought the same of mine.

Do you like your stealth??

Lol. at least thats the same car with just a few different body panels.

and yes, love it. so much fun and way faster than the Contours. even with its extra weight (about 3700-3800 lbs without driver) it still handles the corners extremely well with the ECS struts and tein lowering springs.

One of the comments I remember getting onto car domain page was: "it's a Mazda with a ford emblem, buy a real Ford"

When I was DD'ing the Silfro I got a "Nice BMW, what did you do that?". Had pre-98 sail panels and the guy was looking at it from the side.

Now at work I keep getting "Girls don't like Escorts. You gotta buy a truck." :nonono:

I had a really nice truck, Dakota RT. Everyone at work wanted to know why I sold it and bought an older 4 door car for. Once it's in you blood you'll miss your contour when it's gone. I found out several times over the years.

I know what you mean, that's why I couldn't ever sell these SVTs. The only Contour I don't miss is my first one. '95 SE. Wiring harness issues, went through a couple alternators, only drove it for a couple thousand miles. No way in hell am I giving up #471. On the fence about keeping the black/tan for a pre-98 track whore build. Or maybe I could get a third Contour.....

Guys, I just came to a realization and need some advice. How do you find a chick that is cool with someone who hoards car parts and vehicles?

I remember the CSVT being called an Escort back in the day, really:banghead:

i just got lucky with my girlfriend, she even let me use the pantry in the basement as a parts pantry. so now i can have all my spare parts organized but she is not to happy when i leave parts in the kitchen. As for hoarding cars she not a big fan of that, but i also store half of them at my parents. its not easy having 8 cars!

the worst thing my SVT was called is a neon with a body kit, other then that its the normal what kind of taurus or escort is that!
