Harry,
Only if you get pulled over by the State Police. Every local department has different fines/point assesment. You don't always get pulled over on the highway by the state police. A 5 or 6 over could net you 2-3 points depending on the department that nabs you.
^^^ Very true. Last spring I got my first speeding ticket on a surface street nonetheless (I RARELY go 5 over the speed limit on surface streets). Anyway, I got caught doing like 42 in a 25 (on WMU campus lol.) I was trying to pass this guy on a bicycle around a curve and misjudged the oncoming traffic because of the curve. Plus, with the delay in the gas, my car shot up from 30 to 42 in no time and hence why I got pulled over. I was in shock. I was lucky though, because it was my first offense, he only wrote me up for 5 over but it was still 2 pts on my license. Thankfully the points will be gone next spring (only lasts 2 years for this offense). So now I'm back to rarely going 5 over even on the fwy. Damn KZoo and WMU Police actually being police. Lol.
Needless to say, once I got back to the dorm my girly instincts kicked in and I was balling because I kept thinking of how my parents would kill me and the insurance would go up, etc. Somtimes I think too far ahead when it comes to things like that. Lol. My parents weren't mad at me thankfully. They just teased me a lot. So far the insurance hasn't gone up though, so that makes me happy.
