At the end of the day, without having to do a "mod" an svt contour can roll down the rear door windows with a switch from the driver's seat. a neon, cannot. :laugh:

so when you roll up to a hardass in an SRT4, just roll down your rear windows and smile.

You really are a smart one. It isn't that I can't afford anything higher, it was because the car was a good deal and I took it.

ANd I have noticed I keep coming up with fact after fact on the car.....only to have you say something else about it only to have me correct you. You don't even know what you are talking about with the SVT, so how can you even say your car is better...when you don't even know what you are talking about?

ATX Zetec: 10-11 to 60, 18-ish in the quarter
MTX Zetec: 8.8 to 60, 16.8 in the quarter
ATX Duratec: 8.7 to 60, 16.7 in the quarter.

The reason why it didn't sell well in the U.S. was because it was inbetween the Escort and the Taurus in size. Not too many people wanted the one inbetween. You do know how well it sold in Europe, right? In England they even have a term called Monedo Man. Look it up.


Jesus man, guess what this is not europe and stop treating me like an idiot! I know what the mondeo is, I know all ABOUT them.. I WAS ONCE A CONTOUR FAN MAN.. I love the st220's I know all the motors they came with.. I know about the mondeo's.

Mondeo = German Built thus meaning, its a completely FAR better car then the contour, I drove a mondeo when I was in portugal last year.. You want a well built contour, get one from there.

Hell any ford in europe is better then the suv's and econobox's down here... if they sold the FOCUS RS down here, I would be driving that instead of my srt4

If you were smart, you would sell it.. since you are such a faithfull contour fan... and buy an 05 mazda 6, v6 6 speed..

Hell I bet you don't even work on your own cars and pay a mechanic to do so.

Base neon 16.7, base contour.. what? high 17's?

96 ACR/EXPRESSO neons, mated to a 5 speed.. were 15 second cars, piece of junks mind you.. but quick little buggers

get it in your head man, Neon/Contours were CHEAP american ECONOMY cars.
if it makes you that upset, and in that much denial to realize that, you def. need a reality check!

if the contour was so well rounded why were sales so poor? at least that Base neon, ... for some odd reason, SOLD well.

well another news flash, I owned a 2004 R/T neon prior to my SRT... it ran a 15.6, not to shabby eh?

For comparing cars today, I would buy an evo X.. not a ford, just my opinion tough :p

mazdaspeed 3's are nice.. just not a very good bang for your buck deal imo.. and with tranny mounts break everywhere, and expensive tuning, no thanks.

Yup, when they can't think of anything intelligent to say they always start throwing out insults. No, I don't work on my own car. I change the oil on it and that is about it.....cause nothing breaks on it!!! I need to swap out the struts and springs this spring, but yes I am going to do that myself. Didn't fix my car myself after I hit a deer with the 95...nope. Didn't swap the tranny in my friends mustang....nope. Don't change my own break pads either. seriously.....



And why would I sell a car, that I love, so I can basically throw away money on a mazda 6 when I would rather invest and make money.....hmmmm I don't need a new car that can go faster than what I have now to make me happy.

Rawburt has had a turbo on his for a while now and he sometimes turns it up to around 15 psi....and he beats on his car because he enjoys it....still no *boom* with his stock 2.5L with over 100K miles

But most of the time people with turbos on here run between 7-10 psi with no problems.

And the stock rods have been shown to handle 400 whp. The only "flaw" is weak ring lands depending on the year. But most 3.0L don't have that problem.

Pre-fast means a good platform to begin with, I just made it faster. :D

And once again, the srt-4 handles very well.. I don't know why people are rambling on how far superior the contour handles.. HELLO now its time for me to ask you, where are you're facts stating the srt4 or neon for that matter handles poorly?

btw, if you ever search around for race videos.. or just racing in general.. You always ALWAYS see srt-4s rolling with camaro's mustang's vette's.. thats called respect

srt4 is loved by those who have them hated by those who couldn't catch up, and
comparing an srt4 to a neon is like comparing your girlfriend to her mother, they share the same parts.. but the experience is so much better.

What dodge did right was the speed for the price. Not too many cars out there were that fast for so cheap. And there really is nothing wrong withe handling of the SRT-4. I am torn on the car myself. Love the performance and mod-ability but the harshness of the one I drove made me go bonkers....and it was loud!!
