After having a pre-98 Contour GL many many years ago as my first car, two previous SVT Contours, and countless other Contiques that I cleaned up and flipped, I decided to ditch my K04 turbo swapped VW Tiguan and get into another CSVT.

Here are my previous CSVTs. Both were named "The Condor":

Worked with Sam at SVTwarehouse (svttour) to get this car put together for me. I wanted a super clean CSVT daily driver that will also be reliable. Sam started with a clean, low mileage, Florida CSVT. He turned it into a work of art that he could be proud of building and I can be proud to drive. I only hope that the continued restoration I do on the interior can match what he has already done to the exterior, drivetrain, chassis, and some of the interior.

Here is the build sheet as of 2/27/13:

Fiiiiinally got the car today! Runs super strong with and without the tune. Sam did a great job with this one! Still has a few issues that come from being 15 years old, but I'll be addressing them over the coming months.

Another happy customer of the SVT warehouse.

Congrats on the SVT! I will be coming down to Illinois soon and will surely get a picture of your cruddy silfro next to my eggplant

Thanks guys! Going to be looking for a few parts over the next week or so to have everything I need ready. After that just need to wait until it warms up a bit. I forgot how great these cars sound too. Man that is a great exhaust note.

Hm, haven't made a decision yet, but pretty sure these MOMO aluminum pedal covers:

are going to have to come off and some textured SRP Racing pedal covers or some OEM rubber covers are going to have to go on. Just too slippery with the snow/rain/slush around here. Its too bad because I love the way they look.

Also got my carpet samples in the mail today. I haven't had time to actually go out to the car and check yet, but one of them looks like a pretty close match!

have some suspension work to deal with first (Chicago roads are NOT kind) but as soon as it gets warm enough to pull the whole interior out the carpet will get swapped.

Some shots of her first night back in the Midwest since she left for Florida in 2000 (originally a Corporate Fleet Car in Michigan). She took a 5 day trip from sunny 70* Florida to snowy 31* Northwest Indiana.

on the agenda for tonight:

Fix power antenna wiring so it goes up/down with the radio power, fix hood latch cable so I can open the hood (worked when it first showed up, second time I tried, something popped and now I can't get in).

tomorrow:

Get plates/title/registration and get her up in the air to check some stuff out.

And so it begins...many long nights, alot of beer, many cuss words, and maybe some smashing •••• with a hammer await you. HAVE FUN!!

And so it begins...many long nights, alot of beer, many cuss words, and maybe some smashing •••• with a hammer await you. HAVE FUN!!

Started tonight......

.....Got the hood latch fixed, got the power antenna working, but now I have ZERO radio reception at all. The sirius works, the iphone connect works, the bluetooth streaming works, but no radio, HD or otherwise. Not really sure what could have done it. I guess I have to cut the wire I reconnected to fix the power antenna and see if that fixes it.....that's for another day.

Fixed hood latch cable:

next steps are figuring out why something smells like it's burning every time I go WOT, figuring out what is going on with the front strut mounts, plastidipping the Pudmunkie shield black, getting a battery mount situated, and getting this radio reception thing buttoned down.
