CF heatshield interest

Yes, color can be done. However as far as matching the shade of red that you already have...that would probably not happen
 
OK. I honestly would'nt expect it to match perfectly, but I also wouldn't want bright red or pink either. As long as it was sorta close, I'd be fine with it. Let me see how Pud's h/s looks and then I'll decide. Any idea how much color would affect the price (which you haven't decided on yet)?

Just to let you guys know it will be just a bit longer before the prototype is up as I was one of those who gave out a PO box and did not realize it until a few days after Pud posted about that. After the template is received the prototype shouldn't take more than a few days. And in response to wa2tuff, I am very hesitant in posting prices at this point bc I am only the person setting this up and not the one actually building the heatshield. I have been given a pre-build estimated price but do not want to commit to anything and then have the builder tell me that it will be more than he expected. So, I will wait till the prototype is complete to post final prices. I believe that this is the best way to be fair to everyone here when dealing with a third party.

Did you actually ask for permission or just tell him you were copying his design and running with it... entirely different things.
 
If Pud had a problem about it, don't you think that he would of spoken up by now? Considering that these two threads have been right next to each other for several weeks, surely pudmunkie has read it at least once.

Lets try to be realistic here
$55 dollars LOL a yard of decent CF is $65 and good resin is over $50 a gallon.Not to mention the consumables needed. HAHAHAHA good luck

Just remember guys you get what you pay for

Even if you buy in bulk your not gonna be able to hit that price. Unless you use foam and some cheap unidirectional CF thats super thin and some cheap ass resin thats gonna discolor
