what is that smell

Never a fun discovery. Previous owner's handywork?

Well the previous owner had bought the car from an insurance auction. I knew that and that he had it repaired when he got it (still managed to run into stuff with both bumpers mind you) but he told me there was no frame damage...

What he should have said was there was no attempt to fix frame damage :help: Though I did see the place where the frame was banged up when I looked at the car so even though he was a tard I still knew what I was getting. I thought the frame damage was only cosmetic I didn't see that the mount was out of whack. :(

Since I have never removed a subframe, what is required and how can you tell it is bad?

Well I can tell it's bad because when I went in for my alignment appointment today they told me it wasn't going to be possible in the front. He thought maybe I had a bent strut or LCA but with the car on the lift I pointed out the place where I saw some cosmetic damage to the subframe when I bought the car. So we were in their snooping and noticed from comparing left to right that the driver side mount on the front of the subframe was bent out of shape. So that's the reason the wheel is pushed back farther in the wheelwell and probably the reason I had rubbing issues with my 225/50/16s on the E1s...

I know Carlson Craft in Mankato is always looking for people. I worked there for a while when I was in college. Had to alter clients files in Photoshop, Illustrated, and use Quark etc so they would print properly.

It was a preflight specialist. Honestly it was a good place to work, I just didn't like Mankato. LOL. Great benifits, great staff, decent pay. Since I didn't have any paid experince or a degree at the time, I was paid almost $10/hour and it only goes up from there.

hmm, i may have to take a closer look into that. thanks for the link.

Well I already have a board (I don't remember the dimensions) and have been debating how I want to lay it out and with what. My girlfriend loves scrapbooking so she is assigned the task of coming up with a layout

how are you thinking of laying it out? do you want it all printed on 1 sheet or what? it would be kind of cool to have her lay it out how she wants, then i could take that design ontot he compuer, set it up and have it printed all like that, so it is all on 1 sheet.

1 sheet would be nice... But I'd like to be able to change the mods list

Owner of the company is Glen Tayler (T-wolves owner). I was able to start taking PL and Vac days a month into work, and that was part time work as well. It almost came out to me getting a day off every 2 weeks if I wanted (And I did use most of them before I quit). Profit sharing---and yes you actually get it at the end of the year if you have been there a full year....as long as you make a profit. The only "bad" thing was every other or every third saturday, one is required to put in mandatory overtime if all the work wasn't done. If you apply and go in for an interview, I can tell ya some of the stuff they want to hear. Stay there for a bit and get some experinence under your belt.

I think I could win maybe in cost, with my 98, but not puting the effort into fixing it now....Just selling it. I was going to first see if I needed anything for hte 2000 but having the 2.5 not much can switch over anyway..But if I did
Tranny
Front strut/coil
paint needs work
AC hoses
camshaft needs alignment I guess from when the water pump went and replaced timing belt.

What? Are you saying you are willing to give away a car? Dibs? Haha....

Nope, just broken springs.

Oh yeah, can't forget rear bumper sag!! I am just going to take the darn thing off this spring, Fix up the cracks, paint it, and put it back on. Nothing a little bondo and fiberglass and a lot of sanding won't fix.

Well it was worth a shot...

I'll give away non broken just original springs (from the Cougar) with struts even and a bent subframe if it makes you feel any better?

I've also got springs out of a REALLY OLD seat that are broken/repaired, broken leaf springs, shot LCAs.... You can have your pick of any of this great junk before I scrap it :D

It was only been 2 months, but I am tired of snow and cold and winter. I just want to go bass fishing, but when the opener hits it is still lousy fishing until June.
