Winterizing?

Sounds like the poor guys not gonna have any room left in his car for any passengers or anything! FTW you guys forgot to tell him to carry at least two days worth of non perishable food in case he gets stuck and can't get out.

Just kidding.... all great suggestions.

jumper cables are a definite for all year round.
DO NOT cheap out on jumper cables!!!
buy a heavy gauge that have good ends and are fairly long.

heh .. I was just going to mention this.
My neighbor knocked on my door early this morning asking if I could jump his car, sadly I don't have jumper cables. :blackeye: My own battery died during a cold sap last year too.

I had to replace the battery in our 98 Windstar last week (I think it was the original....) Of course that vehicle needs a lot of maintenance, full tune up, new wipers, and a new ABS module (can't yet justify the cost on a 10yr vehicle with 111K)....

Not necessarily winter related, but I always keep my old wiper blades in the trunk as well just in case one gets destroyed while I'm on the road.

Always a good idea. I had a wiper blow to pieces on the highway once coming back from NYC at 2:30am on a Sunday night. Nothing is worse then driving in the breakdown lane at 15mph in the rain w/ your head out the window. I had to do that for 5 miles till I found a Walmart.
