what winter tire size should i get? am i supposed to put on the same size as the all season or go smaller? right now i have 205/60/15 ..thanks

I run 205/55-16 on my E1. I would get a 195 or 205 and stick with the same overall height as you're running now.

195, no, im pretty sure that would be a bit too narrow for the stock svt rims rob. 205 obviously works fine though.

does svt swapped mean that you have svt front brakes  if not than some 195 70 14 snows might be good thats what I'am running

I would take that as engine but if it is brakes also the smallest wheel that would fit is a 15" wheel. therefore the stock 205/60R15 would be the size to use. otherwise the stock 14" wheel tire size would work fine.

while were here will the 15 inch steelies from a focus work with svt/ cougar front brakes?

I would guess so. you can buy steel wheels from tirerack with snow tires and I don't believe those are specifically made for any particular car.

but otherwise since the focus has the same size and offset you should be good.

probably will just go with the 14's..cause here in canada tires are a way too pricey compared to the states! thanks for help!

He says that he's running 15 inchers now. svt_fomoco runs SE wheels with 195's in the winter and they work fine from what he told me.

205/55 is the perfect size for E1s.

he doesn't. He clearly states that he's running 205/60/15 right now and he wants to know if he should keep the same size or go with a narrower tire.

It is the general thought that the more narrow you go, the better for winter it will be because the tire will "cut" into the snow more due to less surface area.

Yeah, definitely stay with a narrow tire for winter.

A 265/35/18 doesn't exactly cut through snow as I've found out during this snow storm. :blackeye:
