When it gets below 25 outside my windows freeze and wont go down till the cabin fully warms up. Below 20 and the doors frreze and are a pita to open. I dont remember it being this much of a problem in the past. Anyone else experiencing this?

If it rains and freezes overnight my doors will not open. I gotta hit the locks and gaps with a hair dryer and then rip them boys open.

Happenes up here all the time every winter on lots of cars, Contours are no exception. The trick is to use a dry lube spray film on the edge that contacts the rubber seal, and spray the seal too. It works for awhile, and then it has to be re-done. You see lots of folks at McD's drive-thru with their doors half-open so they can talk to the squawk box in the early AM because of this.....

Yeah, mine were like this today. Just had to wait for the cab to warm up some and it was fine.

It happens to all our cars..the explorer, ranger and contour.

Btw sport, where are you from?

I haven't had window or door opening problems, but my doors don't want to close without a good solid oomph behind them. It was also -21 here two nights ago, and that's a lot colder than my car has ever seen.

Doesn't anyone warm up their car in the morning before they take off? :blackeye:

I know if I park my winter driver outside for the night my windows are still frozen after the 1/2 hour trip to work in the morning...being able to park in a garage is so nice in the winter...no problems then.

Mine doesn't get warm enough to blow warm air until 12-15 miles down the road. I figure I'd rather spend that 1/2 gallon of gas moving than sitting. It's hesitant to stay going when it's bitterly cold out, so I do let it sit for a minute or so until it stays running without encouragement before I move.

build yourself a little garage.

park in a garage.

rent a nearby garage.

move to a warmer climate.

move to Cali.

so many solutions. so little time.
