Window stuck down, FAQ broken...HELP!

My driver's side window is stuck down.

What's the quickest way to get it back up so the car is driveable tomorrow? Need at least a temporary solution, here, as I may not have time to really fix for a couple of weeks.

Just need to buy time while I diagnose and order new parts. It's already after 9 pm and I don't want to screw with it tonight if I don't have to.

BTW, the link to the legacy FAQ site is down, so I can't get to the related How-To. Searched the old forum, though, and found some info.
 
Well, take the switch out, and see if you manipulate it to let the motor run to force it up. If that doesn't work, run some Red oil (lubing oil) through and around the glass and around the area where the window is. At least get the window to come up a bit to grease the edges of the window.
 
Thanks, but I'm beyond that, now. I've just left it down while I was waiting for parts and time to fix it.

Now, I've got the door torn apart, and I've removed 2 bolts from the window support bracket. I'm at the point where I need to remove the window glass, but when I remove the bolts from the bracket, there appears to be no effect. The bracket is still firmly attached to the glass, or at least it appears to be.

Should I pry on the bracket to loosen it from the glass?

Is the bracket supposed to fit through the top of the door? If so, why did I remove those bolts?

I'm kind of stuck, here.

Thanks again to m4gician and Tony for responding.

Prying the glass off of the bracket was kind of scary. I kept thinking I would break the glass. It was also troubling, because I couldn't really get a screwdriver under the bracket. I could fit a putty knife, but then it wasn't stiff enough to pry anything.

Solution was to slip the putty knife between the bracket and glass, which opened up enough space beside the putty knife to fit the screwdriver. Then I removed the putty knife, and re-inserted it between the screwdriver and the glass, to spread the prying load of the screwdriver over a larger surface and prevent scratching (and weakening) the glass.

Got the new regulator installed pronto once this logjam was cleared, and now I can raise and lower the window, just in time for today's rain. Now all I have to do is finish re-installing the trim.

I replaced my broken drivers side window regulator. The factory service manual instructions are too general to really help. I tried doing the same thing as RogerB did above.
The easy way to remove the glass is to remove the two bolts with a 14 mm socket, that hold the glass to the plastic guide. Now remove the two plastic bushings that go thru the glass. The bushings get spread out from the bolt that screw into them. Pushing out the bushings from the back side allows the glass to be removed easily. The glass sits on a little shelf, for lack of a better description, and won't fall. No prying necessary.
Going by the factory instructions I thought I was going to break the glass. They don't mention the bushings in the instructions.
Another totally unnecessary step the manual says is to remove the side view mirrror, when removing door glass.

Good input, but I couldn't get behind the bushings with enough of anything to push them out. Worth trying first, though.
