just wondering, im not going to do the 3L, too much time and i dont have enough experience, i just want to get my car back asap. so will an e1 motor work with e0 unmodified?
Couldnt you just swap the short block and not have to worry about any of that though?
But if you buy a built long block, no point in redoing all the timing components, new head bolt set, etc.
There's the factor of return vs returnless fuel systems to consider. A 2000 is definitely returnless, and your 98 is definitely return-style. They are not interchangeable. You will need to keep your fuel rail, FPR, and injectors.
Otherwise, it should swap over with no trouble.
Yea because swapping the rail takes more then 20 minutes.![]()
