Why do we need premium fuel in our SVTs?

Should have been more specific about the ethanol. Here in PA, we were forced to run ethanol in our gas (I work at a gas station that used to have ethanol free gas) We cant find anyone that sells ethanol free gas, and we're told it's the law now that all gas must have ethanol here in PA.

Yeah, like redlineracer12 said, we aren't "supposed" to use them in our vehicles (sticker says, use onlin small engine, off road vehicles, collector vehicles, blah blah only). But when my BMW says premium fuel only, I am going to use the premium fuel.....and some stations only carry the nonethenol version and some carry both.

Dang. If that list is correct or even remotely, then really, i think its only a matter of time b4 all gas stations are mandated to carry fuel containing ethanol

I highly doubt it is. There are at least 4-5 in my town alone that aren't on there.

South Dakota, North Dakota, Nebraska and Iowa also have ethanol free gas available at most stations. Of course, ethanol receives subsidies here, so it is $0.10 cheaper per gallon than regular, non-ethanol gasoline, and almost all premium gasoline is ethanol free in this area. Anything containing ethanol is clearly marked.
