Whore your rides EGL!

ContourGuy9817- I looked up the specs of those Flatline subs, they seem pretty good on paper, are they ported or sealed?

I haven't posted many pictures here.. I whore it out a lot over on NECO though :)

ported...they're legendary IMO! Although i would love another FD1200.1, I still have to say 150db is plenty to me!

Pretty sick for some sq/sql subs. Did you port to specs? What is the rms to them? Sorry for all the questions, I'm a just basshead

i currently have them 1ohm to my 1100-1200 watt mono amp, the box is in my eyes a snazzy prefab box, i soooo cannot wait to be allowed the oppurtunity to utilize them to spec!

Yea for sure, the ports on that are about half the size they need to be and the tuning is probably high 30s. I'd go with around 55-60sq in of port opening if slot or a 6inch aeroport or 2 4inchers in about 3.9 cu ft net (i expect displacement to be about .13-.15 cu ft per) with the recommended 32hz tune. That will bring out more sq and those rumbling low lows better.

Holy years ago! I detailed your car when it looked like it did in the first pic, I see you don't have the S4 front bumper anymore!

I sure would love too! i want my next box to be ports to the front with the subs ontop nonreversed i think this time! i don't understand the box creation math enough although my neighbor is a finish carpenter so i really just need a cutsheet!

I thought you detailed it with the stripe. I know we were at a meet together, I have a pic of our cars with the stipes. I didn't change bumber's, that's the same one I went to from when I had the stripe. It's from some company in California that delivered kits to about 3 people then disappeared and kept everyone else's money. I was going to hit you up once I get the car done for a detail but see you have moved.

Mike, can you post that pic of our cars together, I'd love to see that! My old photo hosting site went out of business and I have NO pics of my old ride. I'd like this current batch of noobs to see my ride!

There are some very knowledgable members on caraudio.com forums, some will do box designs for $5 paypal'ed. You just tell em what you have and what you want it to sound like and they sketch it up on autocad and send you the design. A lot of members on there have been doing that.

If you are an installer(saw you post your business card somewhere else on here), I suggest learning all you can about box building. Its a pretty profitable skill, not very intense math involved either. Unless you are using aeroports, material costs for most boxes won't exceed $35-40 paying retail prices, I assume you have seen what a quality box sells for in the end, most shops charge 150-175 for a 2 12 ported box. It takes me 4-5 hours depending on the size of the enclosure and how fast I work to build one. And that's using a hand held jigsaw to cut the big holes, I should loose a good amount of time once I pick up a rotary saw.

kushy_dreams is my handle on ca forum, I stay mostly in the subwoofer or enclosure building sections.
