well thanks for the support tom. it actually means a lot.
anyways, as for the projects: here's my dilemma.
I was offered a SUPER sweet deal from joey, on his turbo hot/cold side piping off his car, since he is/has upgraded to a stainless steel kit.
but, i have a maxed out credit card and i'm waiting for my damage deposit from my apartment so i have been completely sleeping on him for payment, he's probably sold the thing by now! i think that's my first/best option, the day i get the money in my hand i'm calling him and having it sent here (if he still has it)
if that doesn't pan out like i want, i'm gonna put a vortech unit where my AC used to be. there's plenty of room, and webbing on the block from the ac compressor bracket to bolt teh thing up. there is a site that makes custom brackets for custom supercharger applications with the mounting side of the bracket done. all i'd have to do is space it out and weld a plate going the other way with one little reinforcement and match it up to the block where the ac used to mount. a tensioner would be easy because holes for that are in the "custom" bracket.
the third option woudl be another nitrous kit. probably a split port 3L aluminum manifold, with direct port tapped into it, with joey's LIM mod for smooth split-to-oval port transition.
if i can find a used vortech unit for 600$ or less, that's the cheapest option. but its also the hardest option. of course, blackcoog can make a reverse rotation supercharger work in a matter of a week or so, so i should be able to do it.
the turbo is by far the easiest option. i'd have to fork out more money to joey over the next few months for the upgraded FMIC, buy an external wastegate, bov, and a turbo. obviously i'm buying a tuning program and dyno runs would have to be figured in there too.
i'd also have to pay to re-coat the piping because i guess its scratched up and the coating is peeling on a few spots. not a huge issue but its gotta be taken into consideration
and of course the nitrous is most costly of all, once the kit is in use.
