Ohh well I guess.. Trying to find out where to get the bulb for my 98 Contour SE Clock thats in the dash? It has he green rubber over the bulb too. Any help anyone can give will be appriaciated.. thanks

If it is in the Ford inventory somewhere, he can find it. And let him know you are on CEG. I think he still does a CEG discount.

thats always nice,, i'm actually looking for a few parts now since the guys who worked on my car put coil springs on it.. One of them pulled out on my right axle too much and pulled the axle out of the end part and when they finally got it bak together they didnt do something right and now it makes this clicking sound when I turn and then when I took it to a shop they said the main locking nut ( BIG NUT) wasnt tightened enough and because I drove on it that wheel bearing is going out or is already junk now. And I need a tie rod on that corner as well.. So yes a few parts that I do not trust them to get or install. It would have been done by the Ford dealer as part of the recall on the coil springs but I just missed the recalls 10 year date by 6 months.. May of 98 was when it was bought new! And right now as it is this old I dot know if any of the other recalls are even any good.

For axles, you may want to look for GCK axles. They are new and around $50 - $60 each.

And look at www.rockauto.com for the other parts. Look here for current discount codes. http://www.contour.org/ceg-vb/showthread.php?t=35216

I just spent about $200 on suspension and saved about $15 with the discount. It's not much but will pay for food when I install the stuff. Rockauto can usually save you lots and lots of money, even with shipping, over OEM or through chain stores. The only downside is if you need something right away as it may take a few days to get to you.

And if anything ever arrives damaged they will make a return label for you, e-mail it right away and as soon as they see that the return tracking number is active (i.e, scanned at UPS or Fed-Ex), they will ship the replacement part. I ordered a new waterpump for my truck that came in damaged. Within 5 minutes of getting off the phone I was on my way to Fed-Ex with a return label.

So I just added up what I bought on the Partsamerica.com web site. I spent $199.62 before shipping on Rockauto and the same exact parts on partsamerica comes to $262.43

Maybe a dumb question but who has theose axles for that price? I have looked up the stockers and their all over that!

It seems like they have either been bought out or moved. If I remember right, they used to be in Florida but now they seem to be in Canada.

www.axlesforless.com and they are $65 for each side. The only thing may be getting hit with customs fees coming across the border.

EDIT: Just looked at shipping for two to my place in Maryland. Shipping through Fed-Ex home delivery is $43. So $173 for two new axles is still cheaper than OEM for one side.

Rock Auto's shipping is always very high for me. Might depend on where you live though, I guess they ship from one location only.

I've posted this a few times
www.partsamerica.com
coupon code "ONLINESAVE15"
15% discount and their shipping is free for orders over $75
and many times you can go to your local store and pick up if you need part same day but you still get the online discount.

Your order above would have been $223 total, probably cheaper or the same as Rock Auto after you add shipping charges.

And for those that don't know, PartsAmerica.com
is actually Checker, Shucks, Advance, Kragen, Murrays's, etc.
Local store name changes depending where you live.

The $199 was the total including shipping.

They have several locations that they ship from. So shipping times and prices fluctuate but they almost always come in cheaper that partsamerica or napaonline. Whenever I order from Rockauto I check it against PartsAmerica as well. More often than not I can get exactly the brand I am looking for from rockauto and not so much from other stores. It also helps me be at ease when I order there because I know the part I am getting is going to be the exact one that I need. And not relying on someone else to get the right part in for me.
