Where are all the nice tours?

I recently picked up some parts from another member and while eying his SVT, it occurred to me that I'm pretty sure Ive never seen an SVT on the road. Ever. That got me thinking some more...I see lots of Contours on the road, but theyre all beat to hell and back with dubious looking drivers behind the wheel. Not well cared for at all.

Are there no nice Contours left in Eastern Connecticut?
 
heyyy! I'll show YOU dubious! These cars are getting old and more and more inexpensive. They are becoming more and more accessible to people who just need a cheap car to beat on. It's just the life cycle I suppose. I barely see ANY contours on the road, let alone an SVT.

Come to SouthEast Alaska. No CSVT's, and frankly I don't know if I've even seen a V-6 model. Lots of GLs and 2.0 SE's. And it seems like they were all rental cars to begin life. I feel your pain...
 
I get compliments from strangers all the time, so I think mine is nice?

I just had one yesterday actually. I walked out of the store and found some guy walking towards my car checking it out all around. He didn't realize I was walking towards him then I opened the drivers door and he realized and said "nice car man".

A clean SVT will almost always confuse the crap out of anyone. My new CT vanity plate will have a little suttin to do with that.
 
I get asked all the time if I am selling mine. I do tend to see a lot of contours. Just not too many svt's. There is this one silver one though I keep seeing in Chicopee. It belongs to some guy who runs a shop up near Westover. He thinks he is all that. He even has this little rear window euro spoiler. He needs to get off his high horse. hehehehhe DUDE, Its just a contour!!hhe
 
1214, I pass through the plainfield/moosup/voluntown area numerous times every week. (and the Lisbon shopping area is practically my second home)If I spot you, I'll give you a wave but nothing so far.

As for that silver SVT in Chicopee...yeah that guy is pretty proud of himself:crazy:. He should probably scrap that in favor of an escort right?:laugh:

I don't ever really recall any members from eastern CT. There was that guy I sold my Eibach springs to that was from northeastern CT.

I'm down that way at least once a week. however this past year I didn't drive the SeVT or SVT that much. two years ago now I was driving the SVT down there alot.

I guess my original complaint stands...There are NO nice tours in eastern CT. :nonono:

I do know one guy with a black 98 SE (I think) thats in pretty ok shape, but its an ATX, and could use some fresh paint. He just uses it as a commuter between upstate NY and here because hes assigned to a submarine so isnt here much. When I tried to talk cars with him, he totally didnt get why I was talking to him if I drive a Cougar so I just sadly walked away...Its unfortunate when people dont understand/appreciate what they've got.

hahahaha this dude is fixing my SVT! It traveled on a Uhaul Car trailer from Lowell, Ma just to get his special treatment....185 mile roundtrip but worth every penny once I get my SVT back. There is a red E0 I see being driven by a girl in Lowell all the time and ELKY used to own one bad ass Silfro but now all he has is one bad ass Hearse!!!!!! :) Ps Big thanks to Aircougar (greg) for allowing me the opportunity to have my SVT back on the road! I miss her

i get asked just about everyday by people if i'm selling mine! i want to get another toy, so the svt can sit in a garage and take a nap for a while! :)

No problem man. Hopefully all will go smoothly and she will be running again... BTW, What happened to your interior? lol... looks like the Tazmanian Devil attacked an XL bag of McDonald's french fries! .... seriously, your interior needs a steam clean and some leather cleaner... :)
 
I'm surprised I don't see alwayssideways in newington now that I live there. It's not that big of a town! I always keep an eye out though.
 
I bought my 2000 SVT from a guy in Windsor, CT if I remember correctly. It was VERY well taken care off. The seller said it had originally been an Arizona car. There was not a spot of rust on the body or underneith the car. No dents, dings, or scratches for that matter. I drove it back to Maine and took a few pics. So yes, there are still a few Contours out there that haven't been beat to ••••.

There are nice babied contours left around although they are very "rare" . mine gets out once in awhile..

I have seen some nice contours still out and about but they are getting harder to find. I'm out near eastern side of CT. my town borders woodstock ct, in the summer I'm always out cruising the back roads of woodstock, eastford area.

I get up there for the horse show at the fair every summer, and I'm in Brooklyn every Sunday.
 
I'd like to think mine is "nice" and I'm from eastern CT(danielson). It would be nicer if I could actually find parts for it. I always get asked what it is. The other day, some guy said "sick escort man!" I wasn't too happy about that. lol
