When people ask you what you drive, what do you say?

Even though mine isn't an SVT... I just tell people I drive a '98 Ford Contour SE with a V6. Most of them don't ask anything further with it being a college town and I'm only 21. Although I have had people ask me why I like it and if I would ever get another car to replace it. I like it cause it's great on gas, light, fast, and has a lot of different modifications you can do to it. Oh, I also LOVE the Moonlight Blue color. Not to mention it's small but has a lot of trunk space and fold-down seats to hold anything I need. I would get another car, BUT NOT to REPLACE my contour. I would only get another car because my contour is currently my daily driver as I have no other car. I would like to get the Fusion and keep that nice but use that as my daily driver and then fix and upgrade my contour to the way I want it. I want my contour to last and eventually become a classic (or be show material) like I'm sure the SVT will.

I have no problem telling people I drive a contour svt and if they know anything about cars they know what it is. If they dont then we just dont really talk about cars its pretty simple at least to me.

When I get asked this question it depends largely on who I'm talking to at the time. Any gearhead I know or talk to I tell them it's a "SVT Contour" or a "Cobra Mustang" and they usually know what I'm talking about. People that aren't "car people" at all I say I drive a "Contour" or a "Mustang" depending on which one I happen to be in. If a person isn't a car person or has no passion for the car they drive they'll never "get" why we drive what we do or mod them as we do either. I got kinda used to getting funny looks from people when I used to own a SVO Mustang... I'd tell them what it was I drove and they'd always say something like "that's got a high performance five oh in it right?" The look they gave when I told them it was a 2.3L Turbo motor derived from a Pinto was classic... it was even better if I was at the car and opened the hood and they actually saw it LOL!

I did get a kinda funny look from my insurance agent when I told her I was driving to W. Virginia to buy a Contour and what I had to give for it. She told me "isn't that kinda high for a Contour?" I then told her it was a SVT Contour and they were pretty rare and that didn't really register with her either. I stopped pretty much with it then other than yes I was driving that far to buy a Ford Contour

I drive a Korean whore dumpster, however I'm usually complimented by said whores when they hear 'I drive a Tiburon'. I am otherwise chastised as a penisless ricer by Scion TC owners. Waitaminute.. :ponder:

When I had my SE, I always said I drive a Ford Contour.

I leased a Fusion SEL manual before leasing my Taurtus X. Fun car, and leasing a manual car makes ownership even better since the long term effects of smokey burnouts and catching second from every light are none of your concern! The manual cost me $50 more a month on the lease, well worth it (residual). The Fusion is freakin' huge compared to a Contour.

I usually just say an obslete old Ford.... that ends up getting questions asked...

Once the CEO at my company saw my car, and in the elevator asked if my little green car was a new Hybred Car...... (I usually keep it clean and shiny)

I said no it is just an obslete old Ford that gets 32mpg and is fun to drive..
