Went to the track last night. My first run was 15.5 at 96.0 mph reaction was 2.48. I know it wasn't the best but it was my first time to the track in a long time. My car kept shutting off at 5800.

My setup is 2001 3.0L with svt cams, header, svt upper. remoted turbo. i was having problems with fuel at first went to the dyno friday and running real lean turns out my fuel regulator was bad. Now it's shutting off at 5800rpm. I,m sure i would of did better if it wasn't for that.

I wanted a turbo on my car but i knew i couldn't afford a kit. I want npg turbo but I just couldn't afford it so I heard of the ideal of putting a turbo in the back. After reading the internet and doing resource I decided to try a remote turbo setup. The turbo replace the muffler. I posted pictures about 6months again.

These are the first pics of the system. I have since revised it. I chose pvc because it's lite and would stay cooler than metal. With the SVT kit you can't even see the kit.

I think so but i'm not a good driver yet. I don't launch it because my differential is stock and i have a stage 1 spec clutch. I'm still have a bug to work out with my fuel then i will see if it get better.

Some critique. If you're going the cheaper route of HomeDepot plastic tubes, you're safer using ABS... instead of PVC. PVC, when heated, releases chlorine, which is bad for the engine. Plus it's black, which looks better :)

Also, the oil drain hose looks like it has a kink where it bends 90*. A 90* brass fitting should clean that up.

In case you eventually want to add an intercooler, there are some good water/air ones that *should* fit perfectly where the cat is (assuming it's removed). When I was planning out my "STS" kit (which I abandoned), I found some good barrel shaped i/c's. Er, just to clarify (avoiding the logic police)... I didn't mean to replace the cat with the i/c, but with the cat removed, there would be extra space in the cat area that an inline i/c could be used.

I have a stock CSVT 99 and i run a 15.6 at the track... So your 3L turbo should run a lot better than that my friend.... and i dont launch it either...

I have a NON-SVT Duratec, and I ran a 15.3. Your point?

He also said his fuel was cutting out at 5800 RPMs. Try shifting your stock SVT at 5800 and see what kind of 17-second runs you make. :nonono:

I have since then put a 90 degree bend on the drain side, it looks much cleaner now. I thought about putting an intercooler on it but I also been looking into methanol injection I still need to do more research before I decide. Thanks for your input i'm always up for suggestion if they make sense. That's how I learn by listening to what others have to say.

I love the setup you did. Sort of thinking outside the box. And all the people who are saying his time sucks....really? Really? Think about it, he is running a FI set up and he is having basically fuel shut off at 5800 rpms. Of course he isn't going to have a great time. Like someone else said, go run your car and shift at the same points...he will beat you.

For comparison's sake, he's still trapping the same MPH(96) that I did on my 14.4 run with a 2.1 60' time. Once he gets the fuel issue figured out, he'll be trapping in the 100's, easily. To bring his times down, it's all a matter of getting traction out of the hole and holding it through each gear. I'm guessing this was also his first time to the track with this setup, so give the guy a break. I couldn't muster any better than a 15.4 at SZ06 with more HP/TQ than I had with my 14.4 run, due to the fact that we went to a different track than I normally ran at, and could literally not get ANY traction, when I normally hooked up awesome.

heheh, thanks Ray!

Have you datalogged your IAT? Also, how much boost are you running?

No I haven't datalogg the IAT but I did take it to the dyno. It was so lean like 15.0 and 18.0 range come to find out my fuel regulator is bad I changed it but it's still a problem in the fuel. I'm currently running 5lbs of boost. I still need a wideband.

i hope the 15.0 to 18.0 range was on idle... oh,... get a wideband ASAP! u could pop ur motor. trust me, i've been there;)
