just wondering how much lighter the fidanza 9 lb flywheel is than the SVT flywheel (dunno how much that weighs) and if its worth it to get a Fidanza flywheel.

SVT is supposed to be 2 lbs lighter than a reg. V6 at 20 lbs. I know JLab was having some lightened for CEGers and he siad he found some SVT FW's the same as normal V6's.

I would expect your idle to be lumpier than canned gravy. Certainly, the throttle response will be quick. For what its worth, I've driven a SHO with an 8 pound flywheel and a Spec 3 clutch, and the combination is often a pain in the as* to drive. Once you're up and running, the car is fun (SHOs are a blast even bone stock, anyway), but when you're nursing the car through traffic, trying to make a quick left from a stop into the AutoZone parking lot, its a bit of a bear. Its doable, understand, its just not very user friendly.

I would tend to disagree here... I have a stage 3+ clutch and fidanza flywheel and my idle isn't lumpy, nor is it a pain or hard to drive in anyway. I think that sho you rode in had some other issues.

ended up getting stock svt clutch/flywheel from teamford... didnt have the money for the better stuff.
Unless you are dead set on spending too much money and possibly introducing new problems, you made the best choice with the SVT setup. There's nothing to regret.

Dont get upset, you made a stellar choice.

Ive got a spec 3 and a lightened svt flywheel @ 14 lbs I wouldnt dare go any lighter! I drove snobs car with stage 3 and 9 lb flywheel, it was a lightswitch! The extra mass on the flywheel helps compensate for the grab on the clutch.

stage 3 is a light switch anyways, stage 3+ is better for streetability

I would recommend stage 3+ to anyone who is planning on going with just a stage 3. The 3+ is much more driveable, but grabs hard has can be. It should also have much better wear characteristics. I love my 3+.

But to the original poster...

Stock setup is a great setup for longevity and reliablity, so good choice!
