I've been registered on this forum for a while now looking to find a SVT for sale for a decent price and I'm still looking. Now one of my friends that work’s at an auto garage in NH told me they bought and SVT from an auction and told me to come down and take a look at. I went there and it is a black SVT with about 78xxx miles on it with a Borla exhaust and a "aftermarket filter " now it has a really bad ticking that comes from the top which makes me believe that it might come from somewhere from the heads.
My question is there anyone on the forum that owned this car if so I would like to get more information about it.
Ohh yeah the car has a Mass inspection sticker on it witch expired last month.
I‘m going to go back Monday to see how much they want for it.

:laugh: that is my plan. I was talking to some other guy there and he was telling me about how they want to fix the car up, and i told them yeah that seems like a good idea but try to find an SVT engine is really hard and if u put a regular 2.5 in it its not going to be the same and the value its going to go down a lot. i hope to get it for a decent price so i can have money left over to do the 3L swap:laugh:
 
sounds like a plan to me. it could just be loose spark plugs. i had a tapping sound in mine a week after i swapped plugs and wires and i had one loose spark plug. i thought it was something bad. just tell him to crank it up and feel all the boots on top of the plugs.
 
He wants $1500 for it witch is not a bad deal. i talked to him more and he said that he had it up on the lift and no noise from the bottom end all the ticking is coming from the top head in the back soo iono.... now i gotta come up with some money to get it.

aircougar has a SVT engine available without cams and intake right now ....
